Number of accounts opened with BoA & other USA banks

I know some people have had BoA shut down all their accounts and refuse to ever do business with them again because they've opened a lot of accounts with them over time. What's the most you've ever opened with them without getting any problems from them?

While we're on it, what's the most you've opened with Citi, Chase and others without getting any issues from them?

6-8 with no issues at moment in my girls name over this past year.

Both my ex and current both work at banks and they say it is common for people to have 6-8 accounts. Many people open accounts just to pay particular bills...i.e.. Electric Bill acct#1, Phone Bill acct#2, etc, etc...

What they do not like is multiple accounts going into negative or repeat issues. If you keep all accounts clean and with funds more then say $100 in each they wont mind as much. I suspect those that have been band, have been for other reasons then just having multiple accounts. Also, go mom-pop, family owned type of banks. Much less likely to have issues.

My banker told me anything more than 9 at any bank will cause trouble with them and possibly IRS. So I wouldnt advise to have so many.

He also told me you should limit to closing 2-3 a year.

I use BOA and SunTrust and have horrible credit. Also, offer to make a phat ass deposit when opening the account.
