confused.com have been trading succesfully without my paypal and ebay linked..
 

Ok it must be something simple.

I have a 3 year old ebay private account and i use paypal to buy and sell recon electrical goods.

I am starting selling hong kong gear and upgraded my paypal from the 1900 limit..to premier all OK.

then i am just browsing through my paypal profile and it says under

profile/ My selling preferences/ eBay ID Link my eBay ID to my PayPal account.

It is not linked so how have i been able to trade at all ?

I am presuming that from now on if i am going to step up a gear i have to link ebay to payal, or is this just an irrelevant setting

i.e. i only need to be linked from the ebay to paypal end ?

its not on your paypal profile under auctions, right?
try looking on account settings on ebay settings, you will probably find it there

when you started selling, it probably sent you through a seller account creation, involving a link to a paypal acc....
