Can I sell something on Ebay that is not a replica but makes fun of a brand?
 

I saw this funny item and I'm thinking to list one or two on Ebay.
This item is not a replica of the original and it doesnt pretend to be.
It is just tries to make fun of a certain brand. Let's say purposely misspelled to make out another word and the logo that goes with the writing is modified to match the word. It is 50% match with the original.
I have to buy one for myself as it is too funny, but I dont know if Ebay would appreciate the joke If I start selling them.
Any thoughts?

If they catch you you might be suspended. They do not like people to use the wrong spelling, category and etc...The seller you are referring to probably will get suspended, they just haven't been caught yet.

I think you misunderstood me SweetPea. I will not spell it wrong or put it in the wrong category. I will sell it as it is with pictures.

if you use a brand name that tends to get pulled down then you will get your listing removed. no are aiming at a high risk opportunity at such a limited market. i would avoid.

I got suspended by selling something using a brands name and logo on it..even though that brand does not manufacture the items....So how could it be counterfiet right? They dont give 2 sh!ts. Vero will get you

You can sell it without headaches as long as it doesn't have the same logo of the company or product it is parodying of.

Do not use brand names if it is not a legit brand name item. It is people that use the name and it is made by some other company. That is a trademark violation. I think she will be fine.

Just post in the title that its a parody/joke item and you should be fine. you arent trying to pass anything off as something else. Just clearly let people know up front what its all about. should be fine.

But why bother? Isn't the game hard enough as it is without messing about like that? Sorry - I just don't get it when it isn't necessary to take such silly risks. Find something to sell that's bomb proof then you have one less thing to worry about.
