Default Ebay Automatic Payment Options, Cant use my Gift Card!

Hello, i have already posted in the sticky for how to pay ebay fees safely.

No one has posted in that thread or responded in a week. I need some help with the automatic payment method that ebay asks for when you list your first item.

I purchased a Gift card from a local vendor. It is a US Bank Gift Card. It allows you to enter your billing information online. I then added it to ebay but received an error stating i must enter a credit or debit card and that prepaid cards are not allowed.

Is there a gift card that works? In the main sticky it said that gift2go cards work. Is this still the case or has ebay eliminated this option?

If you do not want this information on the forum please PM me to keep the information private.

You pay your fees with pp balance? Very cool - I've been debating if I should or use a VCC. Thank you!

Ok maybe i wasnt clear.

I POSTED IN THE THREAD DEDICATED TO THIS PROBLEM BUT NO ONE RESPONDED.

The problem is that you should never use pp to pay ebay fees. I am looking for a way to use a gift card to pay my ebay fees which is required if you want to list items for sale.

I saw some members stating that gift2go works but i dont want another gift card unless i know it will work.

Please help me figure out how to pay my ebay fees without paypal.

Thanks grifter and kingray. I appreciate the help. Do these work for the initial payment method they ask for when listing the first item for sale? When i entered my gc info they knew it was a gc and wanted a credit or debit card. If i dont hear back ill try the greendot hopefully that will work.

I think the general answer is the less linking, the more stealth the better. Although I pay all my fees with paypal...

They may not take a regular prespecified gift card but they take the ones you can reload at any time. Those give you more options.

They work fine. If anyone says otherwise they are just talking BS. I use them EVERY TIME.

KingRay.. why do you use a card to pay instead of paying out of your pp?

I actually did it because I had fees pulled out one time when I didnt have the balance to cover it. They tried 2 times before I could get teh balance back up and was forced to use another method.

That is what caused me to do it but others say its just better than PP becuase.. well probably because of the thing that happened to me.. lol It could have jacked up my paypal and ebay connection and suspended me the way they work things. lol

ill try the greendot because you recommended it and vanilla is non reloadable like my current gc. Hope it works otherwise ill have to link the pp. aspkin even told me that i should just link my pp. this will be the last resort especially since i dont even want to use pp for the items im selling. They are the worst and we should all be avoiding using them. I might go with moneybookers or someone else on my other ebay accounts.

Just a note about the greendot for walmart. it being a Walmart card may have nothing to do with it though.

I went online did the registration and all. Put the card number in ebay. They ppulled the fees. all was good.

I get my real card in the mail within 2 weeks but teh number is different. Then when ebay tried to pull the fees the next month it said insufficient.

I had to load the new CC number into ebay after I got the permanent card.

Just an FYI.

I just used a variation of my name which is what I used on eb/pp. It took just fine with my ssn. Never had any issues with it thusfar.

Maybe my variation was close enough.

Joe Blow
