Are people really creating new accounts that have no selling limits?

I was just wondering, I created another account today and got hit with the 10/$1,000 limit. I read before some people we creating accounts that didn't have ANY selling limit on them. I did this was to a T as well, and still got the limit. Also, is there anyway to know the limit before you begin to sell? Like I normally age all my accounts at least 2 to 3 weeks, but I am selling very low risk items that normally only sell for $2.00 or so, so I am not going to wait 3 weeks to sell a bunch of $2.00 items 10/$1000. I would rather know what the limit is when I create the account then start selling. Also if anyone has figured any tricks when creating an account to get a higher limit, or without one lets try to put heads together to figure out how you are doing it. I have made a list of what I have done and these are VERY good stealth accounts, and they still have the limits. If you don't want to share you can PM me and we can share notes.

As far as what I have experienced and also read on here, you don't know the limit until you list that first item.

Damn so that means I am going to have to wait the two weeks to figure out if it's got a selling limit or not. At this point I am going to guess it 99.9% will and will probably just go ahead and list

NTP is right. I had the 10/$1000 limit from the beginning. It was a personal account. There have been a lot of threads about business vs. personal accounts. I haven't tried a business account yet. I just keep reading and getting ideas! :pop2:

I like that new name! Maybe I'll change it! :yar:

Out of 10 accounts I made 3 had no Limits! Keep building and you might get one too! :)

SweetPea 08-09-2011 07:41 PM

Do you know why the 3 had no limits? Maybe the items you listed or your listing pattern was different on the 3? Did you notice anything different?

KingRay 08-09-2011 08:07 PM

All of my business/industrial category accounts have never had limits.

What category do you use? Office supplies?

SweetPea 08-09-2011 08:37 PM

The key is "business". This will be my next stealth. KingRay, do you sell anything close to VeRO? If not, do you think this is why you do not have limits?

KingRay 08-09-2011 10:06 PM

As said before I sell in the business/industrial category.

To the last poster, I do not sell anything even close to VERO or risky items in any way. To be honest I sell tools. I am not going into the niche of tools which would be stupid to give away but saying tools is good enough to understand what I mean. There are thousands of different niches of tools so it would take too much effort to know what I sell and how I sell it.

I do feel that this is the reason I get no limits. yes.

Sell4more2 08-09-2011 11:41 PM

No, has nothing to do with the listing, I always make seller accounts before I even list.

You just need to out-smart the ebay robot. :D

Business & Industrial is 1 of 3 categories that never have limits. So, this doesn't necessarily count for most people.

SweetPea 08-10-2011 09:29 AM

Sorry I do remember you saying that. I'm just not sure which categories never have limits. I have always just sold in one category which does have limits.

unkown5454 08-10-2011 11:39 AM

Search EB. The 3 categories are listed on their site. Not like it's hidden.

rsot 08-10-2011 03:41 PM

Other 2 categories are Real Estate and Motors - for what they're worth.
