| | | crazyfrog | 08-10-2011 04:03 PM | halifax online savings not receiving paypal deposit amounts Hello,
Now, halifax online savings account, wouldnt even receive paypal deposit amounts, as of today.
So online accounts of lloyds and halifax wouldnt be used to verify paypal.
They used to verify paypal and get removed automatically even 1 month ago, but now TOTALLY USELESS!
Any online bank account , that can be opened easily, without ID verification, please reply to the post.
Cheers, |

Cheers, | Hi You need to open the online web saver account with debit card to be able to receive the DD mandate, apply online, it is opened instant if you bank with them, you can have a maximum of 5, you can also have 4 current accounts as well, it must be a maximum of 10 accounts with them as i also have a savings account and cannot open any more. |
| ShadyOne | 08-10-2011 04:31 PM | Just because a savings account comes with a debit card, it does not mean it allows DD's to be set up. I have tested savers recently to verify a PayPal and have not experienced the problems the OP has.
Most people are not to bothered about saving acounts anyway, because they are doing fine with their current accounts.
@OP, just out of interest, have you double checked that you have actually set up the direct debit and sent the two smal deposits? as many people make the mistake of not, lol. Have you put funds in the savings account? How many days has it been since sending the deposits? etc etc etc :) |
| swiss61 | 08-10-2011 04:50 PM | I had the same problem with Halifax.
When I inquired about why it says DD and then does not accept the PP payments they told me I need £100 in the account first before they accept DD.
I never knew that as I was given a sort code and account number straight away. |
| reverof | 03-19-2012 05:42 AM | yeah I just realized I have a couple of these - do these still work as long as DD activated?
I noticed that one of mine had DD setup the other not and Im sure its because of 100£+ being put in at some stage into one of them |
| mattytman | 03-21-2012 08:21 AM | I don't see where all the confusion lies here?
£100 before direct debits are activated?? This is not accurate. You either have an account that accepts direct debit mandate allowance - or you don't...there is not middle ground.
Halifax savers still work as I tried one last week. Same issue as before i.e. the account gets removed from PP about 3-24 hours after the deposits hit (usually 4 working days after submitting the DD mandate). So be quick to verify the account before it gets removed. Then, if you are desperate - just add the same account as unverified bank to withdraw to.
Shadyone is a legend!! Listen t his words!! You probably didn't click the "continue" button after the account (been there before). |

Im going to test by putting some money in them and see if it gets activated. Will update shortly. |
| cortex | 03-21-2012 06:50 PM | halifax savers work fine for me...used one few weeks ago.
heres a lil trick i discovered, could be a fluke but here it is...
add savers to verify
when the microdeposits come thru, add to payp and click OK confirm amounts
make a withdrawal of say £50
go to remove the bank account
it will say "it cannot be removed as a withdrawal is being processed"
even when the withdrawal has landed the savers stays attached
mine has been on there for for approx 4 months now |
| sokol3k | 03-26-2012 06:45 AM | barclays savings isas works well too... ;] i have used one 2 weeks ago and its working ;] |
| they_screwed_me_too | 03-26-2012 07:01 AM | nice tip that cortex, very smooth |
| Callidus | 03-31-2012 11:13 AM | So do you have to have £100 in there or not? |
| cortex | 03-31-2012 01:03 PM | No you do not have to have £100 in there. |

| cortex | 03-31-2012 02:15 PM | let me try applying for one now..... |
| Callidus | 03-31-2012 02:18 PM | cortex which saver are we talking about? the 2.8% online saver ... there is so many which one to choose? |

I was coming up with the explaination as to where "Halifax and £100" came from. You and others said it wasn't anything to do with there savers and I didn't disagree (I have a saver with them, but havn't used it yet) just stated that for the basic accounts £100 is needed to aquire the pin for the debit card.
£100 needed for the basic with Halifax but not a saver, i thought the op had these two confused.
EDIT- wasn't the op who stated the £100, but a post further down. |
| NoneOther | 03-31-2012 04:17 PM | Not the case for basic accounts.
You get PIN number for card as soon as you open it, sent in the post a few days later. No need for any funds in the account. Certainly the case as of last week when I opened one. |
| Stigger | 01-13-2013 09:18 AM | think the poster is talking about one of the baisc Current account not an esaycash | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:49 PM. | |
