| GREEN LION | 08-13-2011 02:03 PM | e-commerce website. im thinking about to buy a e-commerce website
who is the best website provider in uk on your opinion???
thanks. |
| GREEN LION | 08-13-2011 02:19 PM | go daddy seems good.but has anybody used them?? if yes anygood? |
never used any myself bud,but i am sure you will get some feedback from others who have;) |
| bigboy | 08-13-2011 03:14 PM | the OP asked about buying a ecommerce website, not web hosts, which go daddy is.
There are freeley available shopping cart software, such as oscommerce, which will cost you next to nothing. |
| GREEN LION | 08-13-2011 05:46 PM | so is there any ready made e-commerce website?
i mean something that everything is ready(i can choose my own domin name)
looks very good ,and i can just list my own item on it.
i do know i have to spend a lot on marketing, and advertising.
but just some website that they offer good looking website with good service.and actually worth spending money on it
i use to have 2 dropshipp website witch they last for 2 months with NO sale at all.
i think it was because they look very simple and nobody would trust to buy from there.
thank you for your suggestions. |

| Alps_a somewhatlegend | 08-14-2011 06:19 AM | The sites of their customers look very 3rd party. On most of them stuff does not even work - I feel the company is using free 'cart' software and 'doing the do'.
You can make a half decent site via OpenCart - Open Source Shopping Cart Solution and update products easily. There are also many add on options too. You need to have a hosting packaging and domain name, mysql database (requirements on their site).
If you cant do it, I can make something for you from scratch, but I would charge big money as it would be perfect and lots of my time spent on it.
500 UK bucks minimin!
So, your maybe better off doing it yourself and paying for a few addons or finding a recommended web designer via their site to do it for you- but with me you get perfection! :suspicious: Quote:

Most seem to be linked to the dodgy dropship sites in one way or another, so you can't even tell if they are good or bad, as they seem to have a lot of good reviews but then so do the dodgy dropship sites. |
| GREEN LION | 08-14-2011 08:13 AM | @Alps : i will think about your offer thanks.do you have anything ready to show me(as an example) I like to see your work . thanks |
| Alps_a somewhatlegend | 08-14-2011 06:51 PM | ^ I have a few sites, but I sell things on there which this site would not be happy with me sharing with members from here, which is understandable.
To be honest, my charges are way too expensive and you can get sites made up for much much cheaper if you can find the right company. If I took 500 quid from you, I would feel bad!
I dont know of any companies at the moment as I like to do my own work so I cant point you in the right direction.
Whoever you pick, dont let the rip you off. |
| eadirum | 08-14-2011 08:34 PM | you can go onto a freelancer. Get someone to build it for you.
Some of the professional guys there will have past jobs that you can review.
If you are looking for a readymade business, they will charge you a lot for the business itself. And unless you are selling the same items, it has no value to you since their customer base wont be of use to you.
if you are still interested, here's something to get a sense of whats on offer: E-Commerce Businesses for sale in All Countries, buy an*E-Commerce Business in All Countries on BusinessesForSale.com
Btw, do drop a line on this thread once you have your site ready. Would love to see what you are doing.

| GREEN LION | 08-15-2011 05:55 AM | thanks for the very very nice link. at the moment im researching .i will drop a line when its ready.thanks |
| Littlemorestealth | 08-15-2011 08:40 AM | What's your budget mate...thats the most important thing.
One thing i would say is STAY AWAY from WebCreationUK.
If you want some advice on it google UK business forums and have a look there.
My 2 pence worth. |
I have a website through Ecommerce Software | Ecommerce Websites | ekmPowershop , which is one of the ones you mentioned earlier, and to be honest i am impressed - they help you out every step of the way, have telephone support based in the uk (so you can understand what they are saying!!) some really nice templates, and it is very easy to use and upload products - if you can put listings on eb ay then you can use ekmpowershop!
They may not be the cheapest, but if you dont know what you are doing then they are well worth it - i pay £19.99 a month plus vat, they threw in the domian name for free and didnt charge me a setup fee, and there is no minimum contract, so if you dont get on with it you can cancel at any time. They also have integrated shopping cart which takes p pal plus google checkout moneybookers and your own merchant account, so there are lots of possibilities
This may sound like i work for them but i dont, i am just really impressed with their service!
Feel free to pom me if you need any more info. |
did i say pom - i meant pm !!! |
| GREEN LION | 08-15-2011 07:08 PM | Glad to hear that you are happy with ekmpowershop.actually i really like what they offering but was waiting for someone to confirm it.
i've seen couple of there websites(real ones).they look very good and £19.99 a months is not bad at all.
i think i'll give them a try in the next few weeks.
just 2 question ,are they going to design you a template base on what you want to sell???
or you just have to use what they already have??
2.can i use google adsense??? |
hi again,
regarding the template, they have a load of pre-designed ones that look pretty good.
I use something called the chameleon template, which was just out when i joined at the end of last year, and it looks realy nice and professional, pretty fresh and clean as well so it would suit pretty much any prooduct you are selling i would imagine.
I dont know about google adsense, i gave up on trying to use that with other sites as it seems like whenever you have a decent amount of earnings in your account, they find some reason to suspend you just before payout is due!
best of luck with the site, please keep us informed |
just thought of something else - if you are using p pal with the website, i strongly recommend you use a separate one from your e b accounts, as problems with e b could lead to the removal of p pal from the website, which then causes problems linking any p pal to the website in future - best to just keep it toally separate from e ba y.
cheers,
Daz |
| GREEN LION | 08-16-2011 07:26 AM | thanks for all that info.i definitely give them a try. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:02 AM. | |
