mc999 with ebay stealth account I purchased
 

I listed two 3.99 non VERO led flashlights and got flagged for a mc999. I purchased an account off a approved member on this site. I believe it might be because i use a VPN service? Any opinions? I called them to see what i could do and i have to fax documents to them so that account is done. So it has nothing to do with high risk items or linking of accounts because im on a whole new user and listed to cheap dollar flashlights. Should i just forget about this account and move on? And i need to find another method to switch my IP on a macbook pro and my router is a all in one built in wifi and telephone. Im willing to pay someone if they can help me change my ip without using a VPN service. I cant use a cellphone cause i have no service in my basement apartment.

Are you fully familiar with the stealth book and how this all works? you must be well schooled on these techniques even if you buy an account.

How old was the account? Give us as many details as you can, with what you did before this happened. did the listings ever show up in search or under your myworld? Sounds like it was a vpn issue, but i dont deal in vpn so i have no idea...

There could be so manythings wrong. If you just expected to sail smoothly with a bought account that is a bad choice. If you know nothing abou tstealth tactics please research all that as well. It takes more than a couple days to know what you are doing. we are all still learning.

I'm far from a pro but have the book and have studied since Feb, and followed steps like browsing how to sell ect. To make me look like a new ebayer. It was 3 days old. I use a vpn, which I why I think they flagged me.

I'm on a new user on my comp too that I only use for that account.

You said you have the book, what book is that? is it an e.Bay stealth?

Im really starting to believe they will mc999 aka id verify everyone new who trys to sell anything i just think they are cracking down. Think about it thats all its going to take to shut us down. if everyone has to id verify no matter what.....like a bank. I did everything in the stealth book but i used a VPN which is a last resort according to the book. I even pretended to be a new ebay user and listed to small low risk items 3 days later.

Great on having the book and researching. I just said that since many on here just jump into the "what did I do wrong" question and reall the best thing for them is the book to start with.

Anyway, I would start a new account for sure but detail each step and the order you do them and compare it to how you did the last one. It could be the VPN but you never know. I know sometimes the oddest thing will mess with you.

Creativity is all you really need if they ever ID verify everyone. I googled and i see over on some blackhat site guys saying they barely look at the faxes you send them as it is, imagine how many they are getting a day.. do you think they can take more than 30 seconds on 2 pieces of paper?

VPN doesn't any relationship with this error. Forget about this! Don't mix absolutely different things.

Yes. It is true, but you are taking it to another level that a lot of people are trying to avoid.

Sounds like account was too young and therefore nowhere near enough 'normal' looking activity for it to standard a high chance of slipping through the net

I talked to ebay today they told me what it was the ip address, and that it wasn't in the right location. So it wasnt the VPN i just couldn't select a ip address within a 100 from the location the seller made the account. I have 3 stealth's selling right now and my vpn service places me around the address which makes me in the clear. Sucks I paid 50 bucks to lose and account right away for really doing nothing wrong. I suggest if you buy a stealth account from anyone ask them to put it close to your internet location within 100 miles like the book says. Or in my case make sure your vpn has server you can use close to the address.
