MC999- after listing first item on 3 month old account help!

I listed a book for a $1 listed fine then bam mc999. Also have code MC067

The message is the basic "it's important we talk to you about recent activity. Call blah blah blah.

Please help! What will they ask? What do I need to do. Paid for this account so I can't just move on.

mlbfan10 08-26-2011 05:35 PM

0 so thats my mistake. Yes followed everything 100%.

mlbfan10 08-26-2011 05:37 PM

If this is a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ account am I screwed?

SweetPea 08-26-2011 05:50 PM

What was your activity in the last 3 months? Were you buying cheap items to build your feedback?

Did you speak with them? After 3 months, before they raise limits, they will check your information very carefully. If there is any type of link, this will happen.

You need to figure out what happened to avoid it again in the future. Try to figure it out before you call them, so you will be prepared. Good luck!

Never bought anything, just been dormant which I'm guessing was the issue. Though when I listed it automatically said I would have 10/1000 limit which was fine.

This is a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ account that I did not make myself. Could have been big red flag that the address is in CA and I live in NC. That's what I get for buying an account before doing lots of research and not specifying where I live. I have since done hours upon hours of research and have made one new stealth account so far and I plan on making much more. Though I just didn't feel the older account would be a big deal.

mlbfan10..please correct if I am wrong, you bought ready made account, which was ok for 3 month, but you had suspended account/s on the PC that you are using,,and then you opened that ready made accounts and then you listed 45 min or less you got MC999.

Everyday I make accounts and I start listing immediately with no problem, and I dont list 0.99 items the min is $500 per item and the accounts are good.

If I am right I think you need to think...MAC (network card or router)..if you are using dongle then you need to check your the dongle volume information. or cookies...what I mean I guess the problem in your PC or the internet connection

The address is definitely the problem. It sounds as though you are doing it right by reading the stealth and creating your own. I'm sure the accounts for sale work, but not if the buyer makes fatal mistakes. Keep reading both the forums and guide until you are sure it is pretty airtight.

I'm having my mother in law to call as the account was made with a woman's name. Talk with them and if they ask questions about being in another state just say visiting family blah blah.

It was okay for 3 months but has 0 feedback and has laid dormant for that long just aging but no activity. I believe it is because the account was made with an address in California and I live in North Carolina. That is what I think threw the red flag and the IP address suddenly being different.

I have my info stored so I know which MAC to make sure I'm using for which account. I check ipburger and it changes. I have taken further precaution and have different users for different names so cookies should not be the issues.

I also use a Macbook pro and was using safari. Anyone think I should use firefox over this?

EGYfromhell 08-26-2011 08:57 PM

Will I guess changing the IP is not the issue coz you have the right to travel from city to city!!

Safari is not safe at all coz it is using IE certificates I think you should use firefox and get better privacy too for fire fox

mlbfan10 08-26-2011 09:52 PM

Good to know I will use FF from now on.

UnderBites08 09-01-2011 01:53 PM

Using safari on a new user should be fine. No clue what this guy is talking about

The problem is because it was dormant for 3 months and then you started selling. eBay is suspending all those accounts because they might be "hacked", so they want to confirm you're really the owner. My recommendation is to buy a small item for a few dollars every few days for a 4-6 weeks, spent maybe $30 and then start selling. No problems. I do it on all my accounts.

I've had the same problem like you. If you let an account dormant for a few months and then start selling without buying activity, it will get suspended.
