It happens,,,It all Depends why Paypal is Investigating,,,If the funds are ACTUALLY Tied to 2 Transactions they may want to Know about what you are selling, Authenticity, ect, ect,

If there are NO Sales that they can see then maybe they are looking into Possible Money Laundering or Other Illegal activity,,,The ONLY Thing that you can do is to Comply with whatever Requests that they may have of you.

Its an item sold on ebay high risk, but what do I do then if I don't provide anything for paypal. Will they release the funds to the buyer in 3-5 business days or what?

In my experience, majority of the time, its an instant refund. But... There are the times that it may take several days. On a bad note, Ive had an occasion where it took nearly 2 weeks before the buyer received the refund.

Best thing I can suggest is to just remain professional. Be kind and courteous. Another thing you can do is take a screen shot of the refund and send it to the buyer. Offer a phone number to the buyer if they want to speak with you. You can get a prepaid phone or use Google Voice, just make sure you edit the voice settings so that Google doesnt screen the call, so that way the call goes straight through without Google asking for a name.

You might want to add in an email : "I am terribly sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. I do understand that it is a serious problem, but I am doing everything I can to fix the situation. I have issued the refund, please see attachment for proof of the refund. I believe in customer service and I will help you every step of the way, until the process is completed. If you want, please feel free to contact me at xxx-xxx-xxxx, my name is John."

Or something along those lines. You can even tell them, that if they feel the need, they can contact PayPal at whatever their number is. Im sure you can google the direct number or I'm sure someone here has it, i believe its a 801 area code.

Best of luck to you man. In situations like this, you just have to put yourself in the other persons shoes. Think about the type of responses and help you would want from another seller.
