Google Checkout No Longer Accepting "Stored Value Card" Bank Accounts

It's confirmed. Do NOT try to link a google checout account to a "stored value card" rather than a bona fide bank account. It will work initially, until you try to run business through it and get the money out. The will not transfer one dime. They will hold funds until you link a new bank account (they give you 10 days to do this, after which you are banned). Again, this information is CONFIRMED.
A 'stored value card' is account now, ready debit, etc.

Question: Has anyone linked and RECEIVED PAYOUTS from google checkout and ING Direct? That's what i need to know, fast.

ING is a real bank account, it should work fine. ANd it only takes a few minutes to setup.

And is a 'stored value card' the same as a prepaid card? I wouldn't think this would at all compared to a real bank account.

Thank you for the response. GC used to work with netspend, ready debit, and these other other 'stored value cards' that have routing numbers that allow ACH deposits. paypal still does work with these, as i've just linked a paypal account to one, and withdrew the funds into the card less than 24 hours ago. however, GC has put the stops to this. they will allow you to link to the card, by putting the two small deposits into the card. however, when you run money through GC, and it comes time for a payout, they now freeze the account and give you 10 days to add a 'real' bank account.

What card allowed you to take the funds out of paypal? Like aspkin asked are
you talking about prepaid cards? Info is changing daily so it is best to know.

Netspend is a prepaid debit card last I checked (I used them a lot)... I didn't know you could add funds to it like a bank though... good info if it's true.

ANY of the 'stored value' cards that accept direct deposits and have routing numbers, of course accept ACH transfers. i thought everyone knew this.

aspkin 03-24-2008 05:21 PM

I didn't know Netspend had a routing and account number then. Of course if you have this info you can deposit and using it as a checking account, I just didn't know they had a routing and account numbers. Good info though.
