ATM withdrawal amounts in USA

How do I find out if an atm accept a large takeout amount like 800 dollars taking out instead of having to go one local and takeout 200 + 200 + 200 which is too many fees... I have tried calling banks and they say that I could try and find out...

:faint: idiot comment by a staff member of a bank.

Check the type of card you are using. Each bank has a different daily limit for their card.

My expectation would be for Customer Service of your bank to be able to look at your info and give that advice.
NB: statement being made with the thought your ATM is from a 'real' bank.

Usual limit is $500. That could vary from bank to bank, account type to account type.:juggle:

As GB said. It depends on the bank card on what the daily withdraw limit is. But thats your card.

You said ATM withdraw amounts. Usually when you enter in the amount you want to withdraw, it'll say something like "Please enter amount in $20 increments (max $300)" Or something along those lines. I do believe the 7-11 VCOM machines are $300 or $400. If you got a Walmart, check out their ATM (its ran by MetaBank), I believe they are $300 or $400 as well, but their fee is only $1.50..

I see that most daily limit is about $500 on most of the cards I have had. If you want to send more, what I used to do it buy gift cards on EB in the amount of hundreds of $$$$. But that was when I actually had a lot of money to send.

Lot depends on your card. Most unbranded ATM machines allow for max of $1000. Same thing for bank machines. Few of them are $800 as well.

I went to a bank of america and it only let me take out 600 in one single shot.

GreenBean 09-01-2011 09:10 AM

Not an unreasonable amount.

It's a withdrawal every 24 hours....every 24 hours :juggle:

$600 is the most i ever seen for 1 atm to let u w/d. what i do is goto the atm do $600 then goto stores like walmarts buy a 10cent pack of gum and do $100 cash back :D got to like 3 or 4 cashiers doing this and it only cost u like 40cents to get $400 more out and u also get the gum.

Yes the debit cash back - good mention dbk.

FandangoKango 09-01-2011 12:37 PM

I like to buy money orders too if its debit card and cash out out the money order at the bank. Its only like 60 to 80 cents for a money order if its a debit card.

rsot 09-01-2011 12:40 PM

That's pretty cheap for a money order - what service does it for that cheap? Surprising.

HurricaneHuntr 09-01-2011 12:53 PM

Why are you having to withdraw so many? No regular bank account? I don't see the need for all that cash on you. I leave plenty of money in every bank account. I buy with my credit card from supplier and just pay it off from one of my many banks

Sadly most places here in Vegas wont accept buying a money order with credit card or debit card, only cash. Such a high transit city. But I prefer the buying gum method at walmart. I get $100 and keep my stinky breath smelling clean.

BoA machines will allow 40 bills so $800 on each WD, I recommend no more than 30 just to be on the safe side ( would hate for it to jam and then you have to file a claim on it )

The best way to defeat the charges ( 2.50 usd for non customers ) is what was mentioned before, the $100 cash back at a store. Not sure of the fee, Grifter

No services up here in Canada allow for buying money orders with credit card - way too much potential for fraud.

FandangoKango 09-03-2011 06:37 AM

Atm charge here at boa was 3.00 it said on receipt.
