So I can basically be suspended on paypal with my ssn and open a new account and ein?
 

So I can basically be suspended on paypal with my real ssn suspended and open a new account and provide an ein when they want ssn?

Don't think it's as simple as that - I know few folx have told me of cases where pp said no to the ein, ssn was absolutely necessary. BUT, my experience is not as great as other folx who will chime in later.

You are wanting to throw around the EIN too much. YOu really need to understand business models, etc before even bothering with the EIN> There is too much to it. Yes you can go to the IRS site and get the ein but you will need business info and start dates,etc. AFter that you need to register in your state, etc.

Then after all that paypal can still ask for SSN if they want. I imagine since everyone is going to simply throw EIN info around then paypal will just start requiring SSN only and stop all the nonsense.

Before I got my EIN's I contacted an attorney, business consultant/tax adviser for online selling. Got a business plan for each , set up estimated tax payments and got the ball rolling correctly.

You guys that are not doing that and just using the EIN the simple way will be shocked come tax time. You have to know up front what all can be deducted as expenses, etc.

EIN is not a band-aid although just to get back on selling might seem that way. You will see. I am going to make sure I am on these boards in april when all of you are panicking.

Just like now when so many people are hitting 20k in the last few months. I knew it was coming and look where we are.. near the end of the year with people panicking about EIN's and wanting to do just the bare min to get by.

Just know you will pay for it later in money and stress.
