Ebay Buyer Account Verification
 

In the past two days I've created a couple of Ebay Buyer accounts with the same information as used to create PP accounts to be used with these accounts in the future including same emails obviously.

The PP accounts are Bank and CC verified, but right after creating the Ebay accounts I got asked to verify my identity with a CC or Telephone. I created a couple of stealth account a month back and it didn't ask to verify identity until I turned them into Seller Accounts.

Is this normal or is this new?

Secondly, if I verify either a Buyer or Seller account with a CC, from my experience you still need to verify your Phone Number before you are allowed to sell, is that a correct observation?

Who's address and personal information are you using? Picking random ones from Google/neighborhood?

That just exactly what happened to me! I tried to sell my first item on this 5 month old account and it asked me to verify by phone. So when I tried to point out that I will be paying my ebay fees via a credit card when I entered it it said that they dont accept gift cards!

You should check name,address and telephone number validation that you used to register these accounts, eb made some changes last week.

I always expect the call for pin verify when I turn an account into selling - thats why the number should be active at the beginning. What gift card did you use stanislav?

Well I make up a name myself but use address and stuff from yellow pages or something like that.

Rsot, you can change the number while you initiate the Phone Verification process, so doesn't matter IMO
