| | | | | FrancisK | 03-26-2008 05:35 PM | DBA, LLC....multiple accounts? Hello everyone, I am looking into multiple methods of getting back on ebay...
As for my stealth account project, I have just gotten started but the heaviest lifting is done, which was taking all new pictures and assigning item numbers to my over 1000 products.
I have started using Firefox with it set to clear my cookies on each restart and I have successfully changed my IP.
The next part that I am stuck is on the DBA name, my next step is to go to the UPS store and get a mailbox.
The problem is I would need a DBA name first so that I can actually retrieve the mail correct? Would I need to register a new DBA and get a new mail box for each and every account I open? Also how involved is it to obtain a DBA, how long does it normally take, I want to get back to selling as soon as possible.
I would appreciate any help or insight, if someone could tell me their method with creating a new name I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,
Frank |
| ebayhateluv | 03-26-2008 07:27 PM | HI, Francis:
What I do.. I create a very Generic LLC, in my State--I file it myself, use a cc, fax the signature part in, ask for rapid /expedited service..
IT MUST BE GENERIC--i.e. Linda's Creative + Antique Things, LLC
Now- I can create many ebay accts, and accept all the money orders, for each acct,
I can use that name and take in money orders for deposit for:
a.) Lindas things
b.) Lindas Antiques
c.) Lindas Collectibles
d.) Lindas things
e.) L- INda INc
f.) LIN-DA + Company
You see what i mean--I ve done it with 1 single llc, and used it for over 19 accts so far--
BTW=- You OPEN 1 or 2 Main Bank accts, and Savings accts- get a debit card while youre there..
*** DO YOU NEED TO USE YOUR REAL ID TO OPEN THE BANK ACCT? YES--
PATRIOT ACT REQUIRES THIS>.
BUT.. I can go to Mellon Bank, OPen up Lindas Collectibles + Antiques- get 2 accts
I can then go to PNC Bank, open same,
I can go to Wachovia Bank, do the same..
DO YOU SEE?? |
| FrancisK | 03-26-2008 08:20 PM | Thank you for the reply ebayhateluv, that helps clear a lot of things with the DBA/LLC aspect. Could you give me an idea of how long it takes to set up an llc? Also I still have the issue of the address, which is why I would need to get a UPS store mailbox, could you perhaps let me know how you deal with this?
Thanks again,

| FrancisK | 03-27-2008 06:00 PM | I believe I just solved my problem, the UPS store allowed to open a mailbox under my DBA name......but I don't have a DBA or LLC!
This eliminates the need for a DBA/LLC doesn't it? Because ebay or paypal never see the name on my bank account correct?

| ebayhateluv | 03-27-2008 10:05 PM | HI: I can do one, fill in the blanks --go to your states Corporate Charter Div website-fill in the blanks, print it out-fax in , and 24-48 hrs later--its done, about $125...
FYI--Yearly corp taxes are $200-$300 for my LLCs.. |
| Jonas | 03-28-2008 03:22 AM | Ummm what's the point of a mailbox under a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name? Mail to any name addressed to a box # goes to the box #. Don't you get mail from people you used to own the box?
a DBA/LLC is for depositing checks under that name. |
| twdell | 03-28-2008 08:08 AM | the IRS allows a one time DBA for free under your ss#. no need to be incorporated either. it's free too. i guess it would work for what ebayhateluv said. get a generic DBA, and then you can make slight adjustments on it for bank accounts, paypal accounts, and ebay accounts. |
| ebayhateluv | 03-28-2008 08:47 AM | Twdell: Correct, thats an EIN.. or sometimes a TIN..
EIN ,Employer Tax Identification Number, issued as requested for Corps |
| twdell | 03-28-2008 10:58 AM | yes, i guess i should have mentioned what it was called. |
