Safe to open unpaid item case?

Hello,

I have a costumer who has not paid for his item on eBay is it okay if i open a unpaid buyer case or will that bring unnecessary:juggle: attention to my account?

I personally just move on to the next highest bidder or re-list.

I have had it where I have opened a case against someone, and then out of spite, they paid for it, got the item, filed a case against me and then left a negative, kept my item AND got their money back. Now THAT brings unwanted attention.

I would just email them asking to cancel the transaction, personally and just get you FVF back and re-list. If it is a category issue, where you can only list a certain amount of that item, then I would try the second chance offer to the next person.

Just my experience though.

The guy doesnt respond to any of my messages is the problem but is it okay to open a unpaid buyer case or would that cause ebay to review you profile i just want to know if you can open cases on ebay thanks!

i did many times and its ok, but you never know.....

I usually open them. 95/100 times it's just some new guy who has no intention to pay anyways so they just get the unpaid item strike and just fall off the face of the earth.

Its not the question if you will get attention on a stealth account as much as the DSR's and feedback as mentioned.

I usually email them and just nicely say something like " just sending a reminder about the auction you won. If for any reason you would like to just cancel the transaction because you dont want it or money is an issue I will with no problems. God knows I have had money issues in the past." 9 times out of 10 they pay and thank me for understanding why it took so long to pay.

some people think if you get payment real late you will be pissed off and they just avoid you.

That is how its worked for me over the years that is..

I know this will not work for everyone's buyers but does good for me.

hell ya, I always file to get my fees back. Maybe I am stupid, but I would rather get my fees back and risk getting suspended than having to pay fees because some moron bid on something they didnt want.

KingRay 09-12-2011 09:54 PM

Yeah on mine I always get my fees back if they want to back out. for sure. Im not out anything if they change their mind.

I don't consider this "unnecssary attention" - it's part of the biz.
