wanting to buy/sell on new account, how long should i wait

hi, i've just set up my ebay account today, and working on setting up others. i have used my mums address so can recieve items on this account, is it ok to buy straight away?..

also i sell mainly used clothes, i used to list around 50 items a week there just high street labels, how soon can i start listing and how many should i start with?

GreenBean 09-13-2011 07:06 AM

What about your paypal? Is that verified and confirmed? It is better to have paypal ready to go B4 you start buying.
Do some surfing, playing & try buying items for feedback.

Read stealth again until it's near imprinted on your brain :)

A for your 50 items of clothing, forget doing that many for quite sometime yet. ebay dislikes 'just high street labels'. Distinct chance of vErO... be careful. Also that category is full of bored stay at home gals who will happily report your listings because they see you as a rival. :juggle:

paypal not verified yet just waiting for deposits.

ok will bid on a couple of items for feedback and hold back on selling for a while.
cheers for advice

make sure the items you buy are not 99p pieces of crap

buy things that you want, cheap ds game, make up set, realistic things

IMO it gives your account a bit more strength

leave selling for about 30-45 days

don`t list loads at the same time, just one or two household item,as if your thinking "am gonna give this selling malarkey a go"

slowly increase

search all the how to sell and other help sections

BE a noob:)

huddsgal 09-13-2011 08:38 AM

yeah i have already been searching all help topics downloading all the rubblish about how to sell and etc..

Watching a few items at the mo which i want so will bid on them in a few days

Going to kill me leaving selling to 30 -45 days as am used to listing everyday but u guys know what you are talking about so advice taken on board. ;)

GreenBean 09-13-2011 08:42 AM

Better to be slow than list quickly and be dead :pop2:

UnderBites08 09-13-2011 09:51 PM

stay at home gals always be snitching.

huddsgal 09-14-2011 03:29 AM

you said stay at homes girls will report my listing? what will they report? all i sell is river island. topshop.primark etc mostly used stuff

GTB 09-14-2011 03:36 AM

huddsgal 09-14-2011 03:44 AM

GTB 09-14-2011 04:11 AM

Not suggested or recommended to sell 'used' designer clothes on new accounts, as stated. :boink:

GTB 09-14-2011 04:55 AM

one or two surely would be okay

i`m sure that most new sellers sell a few of there old designer wear

an old pair of levi`s,an old nike t-shirt ? GB

that`s probs the first thing they look at to sell

old next used baby clothes etc

huddsgal 09-14-2011 07:46 AM

sorry to be a pain but what is classified as designer?... are we talking high end like prada? d&g? or does it mean high steet stuff next, dorothy perkins, nike etc? ..

I was thinking of listing a couple of winter coats to start off with. Asos, next, will these be ok?. sorry im confused and don't wanna mess up and have to start over.

labelled clothes have seen accounts limited.

A pair of USED HIGH HEELs shoes caused a limit on an account.

These listings might be troubesome :pop2:

Many factors involved :)
