paypal wants my tax ID #, can i use my relative SS#?

This has been asked a million times and 4 times very recently.

Use the search button before asking please.

It is not right to use someone elses personal info in your family, friend or otherwise.

Do you realize what harm you could cause them?

Very dangerous to use someone else's personal STATE info as Sandy_D has stated especially when, if you do it correctly, you will not have to provide this.

even if i pay taxes for this person?

A lot more complicated then that.

Again, you are not allowed to use someone else's SSN.

And if you did and something went wrong you have just put both you and your family member into a deep pile of poo.

Ever ask yourself if they might need to use it later on?

Did you take the time to read and understand if you did use their SSN that you have to match up other things to use it?

Not smart. Take the time to read this forum over and over. As Rsot said there are many other ways.

A quick easy thought like this gets people into trouble.

Nothing comes easy, it can be done with some effort and time.

That is illegal in the US to do that. You cannot open or creat a business entity under someone elses name or information. UNLESS that person is a partner in the business or listed in the Corp or LLC. Even then they must do the work with their info, not you.

Its so complicated that it would be a mess for them if you did this.

Not giving legal advice, I just know for a fact that is against the law. Not even hard to look up for the info yourself. Plus My wife is an attorney for a local business......NIIIICCCEEEE, Right????
