Buyer extorting...

I assume, just refund and hope for the best? I explained feedback extortion to her and the link and her response was.. i work 12 hours a day i cant goto the post office(to return item), refund me and i won't leave negative feedback.

Thoughts?

KingRay 09-17-2011 01:21 AM

simple really. Report them. They slam people pretty good for that. atleast when I tested it they did. I like to test stuff like this on accounts since its so easy to do. Good luck

GrannyT 09-17-2011 04:56 AM

Report it straight away - on this occasion Ebay will side with you
:pop2:

HurricaneHuntr 09-17-2011 08:30 AM

I dunno... i did report her via the email reporting form in the message. But the problem is this.

Say ebay sides with me, and warns her about it? So what, she returns it and leave negative just because she had to return it.

I refund her now, i have a chance of getting no negative, but out $50

I don't see how any of these are good options, unless they were to suspend her or can they block her from leaving feedback?

UnderBites08 09-17-2011 02:09 PM

Report her

holyhell 09-17-2011 02:15 PM

If EB sides with you, maybe they would also prevent/remove any negative feedback as well, since they are already on your side with it. Hope it works out.

GTB 09-17-2011 02:37 PM

blackmail is frowned pon by ebay

that`s what this is

sounds like she is tryin it on with you,she wants you to refund her and then for her to keep the item,in return she will not neg you

when someone tries it on with me i normally tell them straight that i aint no pushover,i also mention blackmail, tell them they will lose their account

this sorts them out good and proper

tell her she either returns for a refund....forgets about it and moves on,or you report her for blackmailing you........

good luck

p.s be strong

She wrote me and asked for my address earlier today... randomly. lol i never replied to her last threat and then she emailed me asking for address today. Maybe ebay emailed her?

some ppl have a change of heart..?

Melissa1971 09-18-2011 02:55 AM

I'd have told buyer something like this this

You are asking me to turn a blind eye on you breaching your Contract with Ebay via committing a policy violation regarding Feedback Extortion And.. if that isn't enough, you are ALSO asking me to overlook you breaching your contract with me also. Item is to be returned, THEN a refund administered. Blackmail is not acceptable.

Clearly it would be unfair of me to do anything EXCEPT advise you to do the right thing, over and over. DO NOT BREACH ANY contracts whatsoever with myself or EBAY. As imperfect humans, we all have a bad day. Sometimes even a bad week so the feedback extortion I am not obligated to report and that, yes, I will overlook.

I look forward to receiving the item and will gladly refund you upon its arrival assuming it is in the same condition. My conscious would not allow me to break this portion of the user agreement with you, my legal and moral obligation to you so please don't be concerned. Further I will give you a courtesy heads up notice when it arrives.

Best Regards,

I hope it works out, sorry this happened to you. Update us ok?

Thank you Granny! :) It's really just a set up for the powers that be to see it in correct perspective.

My two claims so far the outcomes were reversed but they left DSR's. Gotta love Ebay....:nerd:

Very nice message. I'll keep that next time. I seem to get a lot of irritable buyers. Most my buyers are women. The men are pretty considerate .

Very nice CS e-mail there Melissa - text of the day =)

SaiJin 09-19-2011 05:55 PM

You guys need to try to be a little bit more specific in this...

OP:

THis is how you do a complete reporting:

1. Go to your email account, click details and copy paste EVERYTHING.
This will allow ebay to tell if the email truly comes from that person.

2. Paste it into the reporting form on ebay.

If she still left you the neg, contact ebay again and tell them you already sent the email about the blackmail. If I were you, I'll re-copy paste it again.

They will delete that feedback.

GreenBean 09-19-2011 06:02 PM

Not always. They sometimes delete the comment but leave the negative. :boink:

Why come to the forum AFTER you have taken action? It's better to try to get help B4 rather than do something, then need to repair or back-track. Try to practise controlling the problem. By that I mean damage control. Not saying it's easy but it is easier to cover all your bases.:juggle:
