SWIFT wire transfer and names

Is it necessary for the recipient name on a SWIFT Wire Transfer to match the name registered against the recipient's bank account?
I understand that it's generally not necessary with a paypal withdrawal, but just checking it's the same story with a non-paypal related Wire Transfer.
I'm getting paid from abroad but have given a different name to the one registered against my bank account
