Address problem with stealth
 

hi

so im going to open a new account but cant get past this problem.

im wanting to buy things on ebay for xmas so i need to use my address but surely this will suspend me as i already have 4 suspended accounts at this address. but i will be selling aswell.

how can i get over this without opening a po box address etc?

The link is through Post Code and property name or number. Street name is not as important. If you cannot alter the number (eg 21A) then you are stuffed and have to come up with another work around.

Several work arounds available including Accomodation address, P.O.Box, Poste Restante, Friends addresses, Family addresses etc.

I usually misspell the street address and it seems to work

i just use a clean address and add it as a delivery address in eby

i use this address on more than one account but the address has never been attached to pp or eby as the main address although it has been attached as delivery returns address on a coulpe of banned eby accounts over the years.

i still use it, never had a problem like this.

Just like the person above me said, make an eb account with any address you like. 123 monkey street if you like. Then when your buying an item, go and pay for it threw eb. You can then change your delivery address to your correct one. Also click the box to set it as your default delivery address.

Ive had my main stealth eb account now since march this year. I buy and sell all the time with 160+ feedback. My old address was blocked on a previous account but eb have not linked my delivery address at all.

Trust me it will work like a charm.

Interesting idea although: "change your delivery address to your correct one" is not something I would consider doing.

I prefer to keep everything stealth so change address spelling, play with digits in post code, etc are all worthy ideas.

Better still if you get on with anyone in your street ask them if you can have items delivered to them on your behalf.

@Val_Rossi - your idea is comical - if someone asked me to do that either 1) I would charge a fee (yup) or 2) If no fee involved and I was in a playful mood for some gifts, I would say ok and destroy the seller ...unless he was some kind of a close "mate" ha

Or other way round is to just make a buyers account only with your real details, I have done this for other 2 years and had no problems.
I dont think they look into a buyers account too much, it is just once you change to sellers account then probs.

what if my limited paypal address was something like the below:

how would you guys change this so that items are still delivered to it without it getting linked. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Its just that i used all of the money i had left on buying the stealth guide, and have no way to use P O Box etc. thats discussed in the guide. I make money by selling and creating computer graphics online and i can create a stealth paypal account but need to somehow get items delivered to my own real address. i have no nearby relatives or willing neighbours/friends who i can use. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

And if the driver can't find your place, it will be sent back to post office nearby.

You can then go there, get the tracking details, and tell the counter you misspell the details, as long the receiver details match your name, and you got the tracking details, I don't see why they won't give you the package.

12A Won't work, I've just got limited for this very reason. My stealth account was fine, I used an address of a shop at the end of the road, had no issues selling, but as soon as I went to buy something and they saw the delivery address I was limited straight away.

So to me it seems to be street address say Monkey Street and last name will limit you as I phoned PayPal to enquire they confirmed did I have a family member on the street with PayPal issues.

Like i said you need a clean address that has not been added to eby/pp as a registered address before, even if you use it on many accounts it needs to be clean for delivery.

Hi guys and TizWoz, can you explain a bit what you mean by a clean address? I have a ebay account that has my address on it and has never been banned but some paypal accounts that i have used with it have been limited. Do i need to create a new ebay account and change the address slightly, or change the address completely? Thanks in advance

That address thing mentioned where you can just put your old banned address in for the delivery address isnt going to work. If it does for that poster then its a fluke.

I have had accounts linked through gift addresses. Not even set at default. THey linked all addresses in mine. I had 7 of them listed. all have problems now when creating accounts.

yeah do not input your real address on ebay or paypal for delivery

you may get away with it but if they take a close look then it's probably something they will see

contact the seller in good time via email and ask if it is okay for them to send to a different address

ask the seller if they print postage,and if so,not to do it in your case as it will input your delivery info which was banned

some sellers will not do this!

if their gonna play ball...purchase,bid whatever and give them the correct address via email

Your situation is a little different from what is been discussed in this thread, however since you asked, you need to dump the accounts you have which incidentally would require a new address to make your new accounts.

In regards to this thread "clean address" means.


Clean Address = One that has not been added to PP or Ebay as the registered address.

So if you have a Neighbour or family member that has never registered with eby or PP you could use that address accross multiple account as the DELVERY/RETURNS address ONLY.

I sometimes send the person an email - not via the ebay messaging system and tell them I have purchased the item on behalf of a friend / relative and ask if they could post if to their (i.e, my address) most people will do this, although if you read the fine print this could invalidate the paypal buyer protection, but I've not had any problems to date (touch wood!) and its a good way of making sure that ebay / paypal never see your real address.

i would not advise asking for this on expensive items

just small purchases where there is little to no risk involved for the seller

small items are fine, only warning is that they may input your real delivery address in to paypal shipping or via a message somewhere to cover themselves...

you should always tell ask if they print postage,and if they do ask if they will not do it for the transaction in question

i thought the point of adding a clean delivery address, so you can select that address on checkout, that way in pp it will be printed as your delivery address, NO DRAMA.

it might just be me but some people make things way too complicated to the point they threaten the accounts they took months to build, amazing.

When I want to buy something I send a note to the buyer saying that we have a communal hallway and things tend to go missing from our mailbox and can they deliver to my mum's instead. Failing that, if my stealth address is in a different town to my real address I say that it's for my son / daughter (depending on what it is) who's at uni and can they send it directly to him / her to save me posting it. Out of 20 something buys I've only had one buyer said no so I didn't bother buying from him.

I use their email address in their contact details to ask them rather than through eb messaging so eb don't have a record of my real address in their system associated with my stealth account.

Call me paranoid if you like but a little bit of paranoia goes a long way :amen:
