how to close greendot card?
 

how do i close it? so i dont get charge. my amazon account got instant deleted on my first reimburse with the greendot card i entered which was like only $100 something. i guess i need to try another prepaid card

Go to the greendot website and log in with your username and password then at the top click on security or privacy something like that and click close card. Whatever is left on the card will be mailed on a check to your address like in 2 weeks and the card will be closed, but the online logging in part will remain active for like a few months until it gets deleted out of the system or blocked fully. How do I know? Personal experience with using alot of greendots.

what if i just opened the account? theres 0 $ balance and never used it? no fees correct?

If you don't use it then a 5.95 service charge will apply to the card and it will be like -5.95, but if you close it with a negative balance you won't have to pay it unless the negative balance is money you used up, but if its just the fee that its negative balance then no worries. You can still close it with negative fee balance. I have done that and that's what a greendot agent told me.

By the way I have closed over 20 greendot cards in a year and until now I have no problems.
