| | | gorky | 10-12-2011 12:18 PM | E b AY is increasing security Guys for future reference it looks like the big E is increasing their security measures. I had an account hit with mc999 called in and usually they ask for docs and that's all good. Today they checked and just said they will shut down the account indefinitely, no chances for docs. I have no idea how or what they used to determine that but it was done. |
they must of known something to just slam you straight up
or the rep may of had a rollakin 2 mins b4 your call:noidea: |
| jeffweico | 10-12-2011 12:45 PM | eBay had to see SOMETHING they didn't like. I don't think this is a new security measure - although I could be wrong - it sounds to me like they pretty solidly linked it to a past account.
Just my opinion. |
| gorky | 10-12-2011 01:05 PM | That could be it... However, it is unlikely. Everything was created on a new platform new IP and it's all stealth info. However I did list a highly vero item. In the past that item would just call for mc999 and to have me call in right away for docs. This time it's call in and ban. |
that will be it
most def
thanks for sharing anyways:thumb: |

Maybe the VERO member is putting pressure on eBay to stop sales of their stuff.
Bad luck either way, but you know what the answer is....
NEXT ACCOUNT! |

Just my opinion. | I have to confirm the call-in and banning thing.
Basically:
- Calling in, a waste of time.
- Faxing documents, a waste of time.
I provided 100% valid invoice paperwork to that whole request and was still denied with no appeal. A year ago I did the exact same thing and was able to get my account back up, but when they did this a second time I got an entirely different result. I'm pretty much convinced that the whole invoice paperwork thing is a complete waste of time as of sometime this year; they WILL NOT reinstate your account and it's best just start up a new one. They use the information against you for whatever reason.
As stealth sellers, we have to be VERY careful not to even be limited in the first place. Things have changed so much since back then.. can't afford a mistake anymore. |
| Gman91189 | 10-12-2011 09:49 PM | So true... plus its only 3 months after your first sale.. 3 months go by fast..
Heck, High School goes by really fast.. whats 3 months.. plus all the money and time i wasted not worth it trying to be gready on one account |
| KingRay | 10-12-2011 10:49 PM | I dont think they are tightening up security at all. They just slammed you for a mistake you have yet to find out about. Just go on with another one soon. What choice do you have really.
However if you just keep selling what you are then you might as well get a real job. Just sayin..... |

| slapped | 10-12-2011 10:57 PM | Ebay has been VERY Quite since the Spring,,,In the Last 2 weeks or so me and "Several" of my friends have seen a Few MC999, I got ont a few days ago on a Pretty well Seasoned account (2 1/2 Yrs old,,1200+ FB 100% Positive) |
| KingRay | 10-12-2011 11:08 PM | As I have said before. They dont sit there at a desk just waiting to hit that big "RED" limitation button at the slightest issue.
Actually now that I think of it. They might.......
No really, they dont do it for their health. they saw something, they do things for the money like any other business. Something on those accounts showed them that they are better off without the sales you provide for them. |
| RedShootingStar | 10-12-2011 11:15 PM | Look at it this way....If one transaction has a problem then:
-There is a problem the seller and buyer have to deal with
-This involves multiple ebay representatives, paypal representatives, and only take countless time for all parties
-Time is money, and if they have to deal with you bs, they arent are giving up time and money.
-By eliminating you, they are making more money and saving time.
A personal example of this would be that I had a buyer buy from me all the times, 1,000s of dollars a time, he complained two times after the 15th transactions, and I cut ties with him. It isnt worth it. |
| clife | 10-13-2011 10:01 AM | I am totally sure (or at least 99,9%) their security has been increased. Before chance to send documents were very easy to get (proof of name, adress and so on) i had 3 accounts shut down lately asking to send documents. Contacted them by chat like before and their answer is automated: "no appeal. The email to send docs is standard so please donīt mind it" |
^^^that is id theft big time
using an address is one thing, not keen on it
but using the name and address is using someone else`s identity
using someones identity without their permission is taking the pi55 |
| KingRay | 10-13-2011 11:27 PM | Hotmess..... Im thinking you are a moron. That is wrongin every way as defined by all.. Just because you havent literally stolen money from them you feel you are okay???
Other folks, dont listen to this crap......
I kinda hope you get busted for that. I would be pissed if I found out something like that |
| RedShootingStar | 10-14-2011 12:11 AM | jesus christ help us all :pry: |
| slapped | 10-14-2011 09:22 AM | What is Wrong with you, HOTMESS???
Don't you see Ads ALL Day long for companies that Protect Identities like "Lifelock",,,,Hell, a LOT of Banks offer this type of Protection (Like Mine) to their Credit/Debit card Holders,,
If Law Enforcement Does Not catch you,,,the Moment you use someones Idenity that has one of these subscriptions to one of these Idenitity protection companies WILL Catch you,,after all that is EXACTLY what they are being paid for.
And when they DO Catch you they Will NOT send you a Simple "Cease & Desist" Letter,,,They will send you a "Ride" to the Nearest FEDERAL Prison Cell, also you will recieve a NEW set of "Bracelets" Courtesy of Uncle Sam.
You TRULY are like your Chosen Username,,,a "HOTMESS" |
| imjustme | 10-14-2011 11:28 AM | Identity theft = 5-30 years in federal prison.
The good thing is that you'll get a new address in prison, so you may use that for a different stealth account.
 |
| gorky | 10-14-2011 12:46 PM | LOL at what this thread has turned into. I think the mod should delete this one... | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:16 PM. | |
