Paypal AU limited account - what to do?
 

Hi all – just downloaded read the Stealth Guide, some very good info in there.

I’ve had a legit US Ebay.com store with a US Paypal account since 1999 which I have operated from Thailand without problems until recently.

Closed the US Paypal account on Paypal's advice last month and opened a legit Australian Paypal account [I'm an Aussie] which has now been limited - soon as it hit the $1,000 mark.

Aus Paypal asked for Passport, Driver’s License and Bank statement which I provided 23 days ago. All done and all legit – but I’m still limited. All addresses in the US ebay store are legit, a US address, an Aussie address and a Thai address all with working phone numbers.

My question is what can I expect will happen next with Aus Paypal ? Has anyone had a similar experience?

There is $1,800 sitting in there – what will happen to this money?

Have not phoned Aus Paypal as yet – wanted to get some advice before doing that as I have no idea what to expect.

Any thoughts much appreciated, cheers.


PS - I maintain a residence in Australia and a residence in Thailand – apparently ok to have residences in 2 countries according to Paypal guidelines on there website.

Just read a couple hundred posts here this morning and see that the worst that can happen is a 180 day hold on funds then the money is released + phone paypal and talk nicely to them is the way to go to try to get something done about the limit.

Will post the outcome + any info I get re having a US ebay account linked an Aussie paypal account with a Thai shipping address.

Phoned paypal today and the guy lifted the limit while I was on the phone with him - sure does pay to be polite and prepared :-)
