Starting New... going Stealth
 

Just bought and read eb stealth. Need to read through again, but here's my story for those that are interested.


Been on eb for 11 years. 100% positive fb. Started selling consistently over last years Christmas rush. Did great. No problems. Started up again last month and got a MC999 Trade Mark Violation after two items were already sold. I had about 5 items removed. I did not get suspended, but my policy compliance is at a medium right now. I've continued to use my account to buy stuff, but haven't posted anything since and won't till my 6 month violation is up. To continue selling my items, I started to sell from my brothers account. Started slow. I would sell 1 item and then would post another. After about 3 items sold I started to overlap postings and then had about 3 or 4 up at once. After about the 10th item posted, my brothers account got suspended. Trademark violation.


So now I'm here reading up on how to create a new account with paypal without getting linked to my account or my brothers suspended account.

If you use an identical or similar trade mark for identical or similar goods and services to a registered trade mark - you may be infringing the registered mark if your use creates a likelihood of confusion on the part of the public. This includes the case where because of the similarities between the marks the public are led to the mistaken belief that the trade marks, although different, identify the goods or services of one and the same trader.

FOR EXAMPLE: If you list WillyWonka candy stating that it is willywonka when it is NOT then this is a trademark violation.

:doh:If you got restricted for a trademark violation, why on earth would you relist it again?

You violated ebay policy so your account went to medium. If you did it again it would go to low.
So you could have continued to use that account so long as you do not breach the policy's again.
The policys do get removed after a few months.

I am so happy I found this forum. I was selling for months on Ebay and it was going great I was so happy because I am unemployed now and this was a blessing. It was starting to go really well. All of a sudden I get notified to send all my id and my Paypal was restricted. After giving them everything they needed they inform me theres a 9yr old account "linked" to me that owes $9,000 YA RIGHT! Even if thats true I cant do anything about it. They give me some email address thats not mine and tell me to fix it. I have no idea what the email address is so basically Im screwed.... DONE!

I borrowed a friends account thinking that nothing could happen if its a legit account in someones else's name ..well you can guess whats next.. DONE!

I am just trying to get by make a living and not get shut down. I guess this is the place :clap:

Well if you're going to be selling the same items then you will always have that problem. An account with a medium rating isn't a problem, even with a low rating it isn't. Of course that is assuming you aren't going to violate policy again.

Simply put if you are going to sell items which violate policy then you will always have this problem. You can either stop violating policy or go the multiple account method, good luck.
