Package has been lost. Is there anything i can do?
 

I always print my labels online soon as payments are made, and i package the item right away to be shipped the next day. I printed a label on Oct 10th and dropped off the package at my local post office the next day. I remember this exactly because this was the only package i had to drop off that day and the customer had the same name as me so it kind of stuck with me and made me remember. Its Oct 19th now and the buyer is complaining because he has not received the package. He is right, i checked the tracking number and it says" the post office has been electrically notified but this does not mean the package has been shipped..."

So my only guess is someone in the post office misplaced the package, someone there stole it, maybe it it vanished. I don't know. But i am POSITIVE i shipped the package. Just wondering if i am basically out of 60 bucks or is there any thing i can do about this?

Call the post office 1-800 number if your in the us and ask them where is it or go to your local post office where you dropped it off and ask where is it. If they don't know you will have to re-ship to keep your folk happy or give him some money back so he/her is happy.

I used to get these Very often. they would complain, I would kiss their ass and a week after I sent them a refund or replacement they would get it. All you can really do is simply tell them that you did send it but sometimes they do not get scanned into the PO as they should. Then tell them you will send a replacement but when/if you get it in the mail can you please contact me so I can figure out what I want to do with it. If its cheap, tell them they can keep it. Most of the time they respond with "Okay I understand, I will give it another 5 days or so".

Also, if they dont believe you about the scan thing a the PO. Show them all the auctions for big colored decals that say "scan me" for that reason alone.

You were right. The package finally got scanned when it arrived at his state. I thought it was lost but i guess they just never scanned it.
