No. Well, YES and no.

eBay is pulling data from Equifax and/or Experian. Neither company will do business with individuals.

HOWEVER, we CAN get public record data from a couple of online providers such as Intelius. It should be the same. The difference is that eBay will have access to credit data, and WE would not.

So, it wouldn't help with questions like "what is the make and model of the last car you financed".

But it WOULD Help with dates of birth, relatives and previous addresses. In the USA, it is completely legal to sell that data to ANYONE. But social security numbers, drivers license data and credit data is off-limits unless you have what is called "permissible purpose" as defined under the FCRA.

Its really not needed. You should answer none of the above to all the questions asked by Ebay. If you are needing public database you would be stealing someone's identity most likley.....

Selling the info for research reasons is legal but the use of it how people are with PP and EB is not by any means. It may get you past their verifications but legally its still a minor type of ID theft. Just an FYI.

Yes and no. NO, you cannot use any other person's real information. That IS ID theft. But you COULD pick a last name associated with an address and make up a first name.

It all depends on whether or not the person exists.

You are correct. didnt think of it that way. Just was thinking full name and address info. May still be a hassle if it ever did but cant see how that could even ever get "found out" really.
