can paypal track a new bank account?
 

hey guys i've recently run into an issue with a buyer on ebay.

i sold an item for $600 on ebay.

the person who received it is now claiming there is damage and ups is refusing to cover the $600 in shipping insurance i paid for. they said it was packaged incorrectly. When i shipped it the person said it was fine and went ahead and covered it for $600. Ups is now saying it was not packaged right so they can not cover it. The employee that said it was ok quit and moved to california so they can not even question him.

My question is if i close my bank account and open another can they trace my account and debit money from my new account?

No they can not trace your new bank account I know this from experience and I did it with a higher dollar amount so yeah your safe unless the person is some type of warrior who will stop at nothing to get you but I assume they will get there money back from pp or there card company if they used one and pp will not come after you for $600 so yeah your safe be at peace

ok just want to make sure, the account is not stealth though, i did not know about "stealth accounts". So they have my name an address but i never verified with my social, just bank account and credit card. i dont want this to go to collections and ruin my credit score. do i have to worry about that? they also have my phone number but i can change that if needed easily

It all depends how much you value that account and whether you are a casual seller or not.

the bank account? im not concerned with i can close it and not worry about it.

almost 80 views and only input from 2 members? please share some knowledge on the subject guys. I am not try to screw anyone over but if this goes into a paypal dispute im out 1k, i know hoe paypal works and i have no chance of winning this. and ups is really shafting me here
