Default Will changing passwords etc.. raise flags?

Hi guys,
I needed to get selling fast without a 10 item per month limit so I found a chap selling his ebay shop with roughly 600 feedback, 14months old with no selling restrictions etc.. (came with his paypal account)
I've now bought it from him but was wondering if it will raise flags if I start changing passwords on both the ebay and paypal account?
I'd imagine not as some people change thier passwords on a regular basis?
Many thanks

No Shouldn't think so just as you said the account is in good standing and many ebayers change their passwords on a regular basis. Make sure your new passwords are completely different to any stealth accounts / accounts you already have or had.

Also ask the person you brought the e-bay shop from if the changed there passwords on a regular basis , if they did then you have definitely have nothing to worry about.

Here is an idea if you are comfortable with doing so just make a variation of the previous password on the account.

Hope this helped

why did you NOT think to check all that out B4 you parted company with your money?

Have you 'looked' at the account to confirm it is as wonderful as you dream?

What are you doing about stealth & other banned accounts?

When a newbie says 'I have to hurry to sell', I reach for my tissues. I really hope you have looked at this correctly.

Taking over the account will mean much more than a password change

I Agree taking over an account is slightly more complicated then changing passwords .

Also I am assuming this a stealth account you brought what are you going to do about VCC and so on .

Changing passwords won't raise flags for 1 time. What will raise flags is if the account login ips are far away and new information like address change and number and if you start selling high vero. You might get prompted for invoices and docs information. Ebay might think the account was hijacked, but if you can prove everything is good then you won't have a problem.

Woaa, yes I am a relative newbie but I have been on here pretty much everyday for the last few weeks getting as much info as possible :D

Cheers for the info on the password change, I was petty sure it would be okay but I just wanted a second opinion.

The account was not a stealth account, its a genuine account with his real name, address etc..

In reply to greenbean, yes I have looked at the account which is still active and still even has around 200 of his items listed. I've asked him to leave these items active and NOT end them as I know this would cause suspicion.

what about the IP, your 'old accounts' & a possible chance of linking this new account. Is that covered.

Just I go into overkill in case you've slipped up checking something

IP is changed along with a shiny new user account :D

I did give good money for this account as it jumped out at me as a good one being genuine even selling pretty much the same items as I do! :O

Providing I can get this account up and running with no problems then I will not be accessing any other old accounts as I think I will be taking unnecessary risks.

I never had a problem changing just the password.

Like GB stated, double check everything to make sure no mistakes are made.

They don't really like changes. The more stable the better.
