Ebay tightening up bigtime

Got the MC999 on one of the eb accounts and got the message to call.

Odd thing is this is a real info account and they said I failed all three questions which I totally disagreed with.

She said to send in all the items but the sink. I told her that I have already sent all of this to pp and have been verified with pp. She said we are not the same and do not look for the same things. ( Never heard this one before )

Not being a stealth account I was ready to answer all of the questions and she asked easy questions that I knew the answers to but yet she said it does not match the information she has.

I faxed all the info once again to eb.

Anyone have this happen on a real non stealth account?

This is a newer account I just started a few months ago. Something tells me competition turned me in because I have sold similar items on a 500 fb account and did not use the same pictures, write up, prices etc.

How can they restrict an account with the real info? Amazing.

You should be able to send in the documents and be done with it in 2-4 days. Later on down the road things will get even harder. Just be happy that you can do it now the relative easy way.

You should have nothing to worry about.

Failing the 3 questions did not help. I know I answered them correctly and yet they still want the info. Telling me they are tightening their belts even more.

Being real guarantees nothing. I have lost real accounts just as quickly as any other.

Were you selling risky items or something?

Wait...so, you think every single member on this forum stumbled here from the result of selling "risky" items?

I highly advise you don't make such accusations to anyone else here in the future. Perhaps you need more experience in the matter. I've been dealing with these EB/PP clowns since 1998.

Any experienced member who has been involved in this for the majority of EB and PP's existence will understand my position. I certainly won't take the time to justify you with a more in depth response. :suspicious:

I did not say that at all, I asked YOU if you sold risky, vero etc items and of course you did not answer.

So why did you lose your original real information account then? And you said as quickly so I am assuming you were doing something wrong or risky to lose them as you said "quickly".

And you are giving me advice on what to post but then you offer no help other then to tell me that I might as well give up because people with real information always go down. Which is totally wrong. I have "many" friends who still have their original 1995-96 original accounts and never had a single issue with them.

I highly advise you if you are going to post and offer no help to not even post at all.

Then you said I have lost real accounts with an S. How many real account can one have and if you had more then one why did you lose them over and over?

Sorry to tell you but I have been selling on ebay since 1995, 3 years before you did and still have my real account information to use. Do you?

A bit aggressive, don't you think?? Looked like Sandy was just asking you a question rather than making an accusation...

This thread has potential to get quite flagrant back and forth so prob best not to stirr the pot.

Not really because it is my thread and if someone wants to follow me around this board and attack me for my thoughts then I can easily ignore them. Some people believe they know it all and when you show them to be wrong they take it to heart and use the attack method.

Not counting the fact they took what was posted out of context in the attempt to stir up trouble by putting himself in a group with other posters here who did not read it the same way he did.

The way I look at it is if you have nothing good to post about and do not contribute to the community in a positive way then you need to be ignored in the first place.

Not being able to comprehend a comment correctly and use it and putting himself in a non existent group to attack is not only wrong but needs to be handled by ignoring.

Now we can get back to the topic of "my" thread I started about ebay tightening up.

The SSN War??? Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?!?!?

FandangoKango 11-18-2011 02:14 AM

If ebay starts asking for ssn then stealth is gone.

jbluntz 11-18-2011 02:18 AM

I don't think so dude, they'll always be some kind of workaround and even if there wasn't traffic would just move to other sites.

FandangoKango 11-18-2011 02:29 AM

Jbluntz if your come up with a ssn machine I will print a pic of your profile pic and make love to it on live webcam.

If that's what you mean... There's no way in hell that eb will start asking for socials.

everyone move to canada!

SweetPea 11-22-2011 02:09 AM

Ebay can't demand a SSN. They can try, but that is why you have the option of an EIN number. Paypal might be able to eventually since they are online banking. It is like going to the doctors office. They used to ask for SSN, but now you do not have to give it to them.

rsot 11-22-2011 10:26 AM

You all stay outta my country dammit!

FrancisK 11-23-2011 03:45 AM

I agree, the past couple months they have been on everyones ass. I've had about 5 mc999 removals for items which didn't violate policy. Funny thing is they apologize and tell me it's okay to relist but don't remove the violation.

Then again I am always supposed to get a "follow up" which never ever happens and they give me conflicting info each time.

More nonsense, what else is new....

oompaloompa 11-23-2011 11:54 AM

yeah rsot, they will be making canada and UK accs and there are alot of americans out there to take our jobs, Im scared........

just cos their goose is dead.....better go and tell aunt rhody...

seriously though, noticed alot of blocks and limitations in last year for unverifed accs, if you are all verified, no probs really so far...
