I don't see how virgin mobile can be a better deal than a forwarding service for a big amount of accounts. Care to explain?
I never said it was better for everyone. I said better for me.
Sometimes its is not the money amount. If it is reasonable and easy to use I usually go with that.
We all have to watch the cost and VM is easy to use, easy to change the number etc so I go with that.
Again, I dont change numbers often so your needs would be different then mine.

That is true. To be honest both have its pros and cons. As of right now i cannot make up my mind which one to go with. I keep reading that a lot of these forwarding companies don't work with eb*y.

So here is your cost for 1 account per year with VM?

Phone $10+top up card $10 which lasts 3 months. So to have this phone number available and working for a year just incase they decide to call the cost would be $80?

Correct me if im wrong.

I didn't realize you guys were still trying to figure this stuff out, just a quick google search is all it takes. Just pick a prepaid phone you like and google a fowarding service that fits your needs, it's not that complicated.

yea i know its not.. just would PREFER a forwarding service.. takes the headache out of having to carry around 20 phones in case paypal/ebay calls when im out and about.. not to mention keeping them all charged etc.. its a pain, i've done this before its a lot of pain!
Not to mention.. even if im right there i hear the phone goin off.. .by the time i even find the phone.. i miss the call...
Seems alot more stress free just having a forwarding service... but at the same time its not worth paying 20/mnth for 1 freaking number.. if it would aleast add up to the same as VM i woudlnt mind.
VM was good before it got the 10$ charge to change numbers (which HAPPEND when i bought 5 phones )
dont seem to be a good week for me lol

How are you supposed to know which account ebay/paypal is calling about if you have all the numbers fowarded to 1 phone?

Simple.. i've done it before with support.uslandlines.com, Before their site just went down out the blue (dont know why)
When paypal calls.. they simply say, "hello, may i speak to John Doe"
i say : Yes, this is him speaking...

and i simply just pull up all the info on my tablet or pc for that person...

I never keep any active numbers on any of my accounts and it's never been a problem, only attach an active number sometimes temporarely like when making a big withdrawel from paypal but still prefer to have 10 prepaid since you can put the info on the back of the phone for when you go out and many other things and still use them with fowarding services as well, which is what I've always done anyway.

This makes me want to question if it is even worth having an active number if YOU never keep your number active. Have you seen the at&t pre paid phones? They cost $10 plus the top up card is also $10. Not sure if you can change numbers on them or how long the cards last. Know anything about it?

You can know for whom pp is calling if you use a call forwarding service that displays the call forward number on your cell phone (not pp's number).

ebay fees are 10% paypal fees are what 3%? for a new account, you can sell 10 items / $1000. if you sell 1000 dollars that roughly 130$ in fees and you afford to keep an active number? and thats just a newer account. What happens when they raise your limits to 100/5000 or more?

I don't keep an active number because I don't care if I get suspended or limited , I just make another one, like to keep things as simple as possible but if you care about the account then you would probably want an active number.

Yeah i see where your coming from now. I think ill stick with the VM phones and only keep the ones active that are on my important accs. I got a question for you. Lets say you have 20 accs idk how many accs you actually have but im just giving a scenario. How many of these accs actually been limited b/c of the phone being inactive? Or have you never gotten a phone call about any of them?
