Can PayPal chack my address?

Can PayPal check my address listed on my bank account? I just bought the stealth guide and am in the process of opening an ING savings account to link to a new PP account. I am using a relative's address for my PP account address, but I used my REAL address when I made the ING account. Will PayPal be able to see my real address that I gave ING?

Not unless they take a payment from your bank(to cover purchases made without enough in paypal balance etc)

So, if I just link the ING with PayPal and PayPal makes the 2 deposits and verifies it, then I pay all the bills with a prepaid Vanilla Visa, that uses the relative's address, I'll be fine?

Yes you will be fine. Paypal can not see any information that you used to open the bank account.

Why would you use a relative address?

If this account goes down and you use their address their own account will go down with it in time.

No need to use their address and put them at risk.

No comment on the use of relative address since that's not the q - the only info that pp sees is WHAT YOU TYPE IN.

Omgoozle 12-01-2011 11:15 AM

This has been said, but it was understated -

If you pay for anything using the bank account as a funding source, then paypal can see the address on the bank account.

nobody999 12-01-2011 12:04 PM

i don't think paypal can see the address that you registered the bank with.

GrannyT 12-01-2011 01:11 PM

No they cannot

Dano30 12-01-2011 05:04 PM

How about if ebay takes the sellers fees from your added bank account? Anything on show there?

Errrm
the rules changed not so long ago in the u.k unfortunatly.
At the same time the faster bank transfer was introduced.

Anyone tried to create a u.k pp account in the last week and noticed any differences, like finding bank location from sort code ?

theres some real problems comming up for those who are not already account stockpiled.

In the u.k anyway.

Do you mean something along these lines:
Quote:

'...a Bank/Building Society Name and Name of branch based on the Sort Code entered. Please check the Sort Code and try again'.
Any insight from UK eBayers on this would be good to hear.:typing:

In the u.k anyway.

Why would this cause problems?
