Locked paypal

hi everyone.

sorry if this was answered before, i can not find it on the forum.
i have a new stealth account, they are always the same and never up till today have i had a problem with this.

so here goes:

the situation:

new paypal, received about 4 payments for online sales all totaling up to $800, as i went to purchase tracking numbers my account got limited, they asked for pass and questions change and ID, so i sent it all in and got unlimited. then 3 days passed and i wanted to buy something off ebay, bought it, the payment was reversed due to "fraudulent activity" and my account locked.

anybody can answer why? also did anyone notice anything weird about paypal lately (i know they're buttholes, but they seem to be getting more anal)?
Anyway, any suggestion would be appreciated.

also a question: if i do nothing and just move on ie not call or email paypal, will they at any point unlock my account? or will it forever remain locked? :)

and thanks all those who share infos, i really appreciate the help.

sounds like a ip issue.......your not using a proxy like hidemyip.com?

prosto_prelest 12-05-2011 10:16 AM

that is what i think.
i use vpnmakers.com
just started using them too, so that can be the problem.

which solution would you recommend? for the ips i mean

oge 12-05-2011 11:08 AM

Only solution is to use fresh ips from your country

rsot 12-05-2011 12:42 PM

VPNs are pretty bad in general - better to get your own dedicated IP like a VPS - or dial-up.

seanws30 12-05-2011 12:47 PM

the VPN thing should just be taken out of the book IMHO. ebay is fully aware of them and seems to ban everyone who uses them. there are so many other options available out there that there really is no need to use them in the first place

what are the options? i have several accounts so getting a dedicated ip is a bit costly and plus i do not use ebay just the paypals.

i'd appreciate any help on this guys. :pry:

Dial-up then - less pricey than dedicated IP is done well. Still - what do you define as "costly"?

prosto_prelest 12-05-2011 01:42 PM

i heard that some of these ips can be over 50 bucks. perhaps i should research that more....
will dial up work if i am in canada and the paypals are US?

also can anyone tell me what happens to the locked account?

oge 12-05-2011 01:42 PM

dialup? as rsot suggested he's a fellow Ca.......

Have you tried calling eBay or PAypal? They will often lift the locks if they can verify your identity over a few simple questions.

no i haven't called them. the account is in a name that i can never pull off

BiN4RY 12-05-2011 02:39 PM

I don't see how that would hamper your ability to talk to them though

do you know if they eventually unlock it or will it stay locked?

oge 12-05-2011 03:30 PM

I think you have not to purchase for expensive dedicated IP at all maybe shared IP will be quiet enough .But the matter is that theses companies are looking for the IP route of witch country originated so if you use a blacklisted or anonymous proxy server you will be surly get banned from paypal & even ebay.My advise is using a fresh VPN server IP of your country or if your ISP have dynamic IP blocks it is much better to reset your router for getting a new IP . :pop2:

get a usb dongle from virgin mobile or similar. i have never had the same ip twice

i thought so too. i always bought shared vpn and never had a problem, just my luck i guess that i bought one that is already known to paypal.

baloch 12-07-2011 02:52 PM

@prosto_prelest I use anonymous-proxies.net for my VPN they have over 800 VPN's available and yes they are shared but the chances of using one banned is alot lower.

also if you do alot of selling then I would suggest you look into backtrack. Search in google.
