PayPal account limited, eBay account is in good standing; can still sell?

My PayPal account was limited and then suspended even after I provided them with all documents like proof of address, proof of shipping via tracking numbers, and invoices from distributor.

My eBay account, though, is in good standing. If I use a merchant account (Auctiva or etc...) to receive payments, will my eBay account be suspended too?

seanws30 12-10-2011 10:50 AM

not necessarily. what was the reason given for suspension of the account?

stugots 12-10-2011 11:13 AM

new windows user ID, new paypal, ur perfect, ive done it 8 times on the same account

rsot 12-10-2011 07:23 PM

You can work around it as long as your buyers dont cause a fuss.

BrianSpilner 12-11-2011 06:40 PM

Probably because I was selling DVD's and had many payments coming through, although, NEVER had 1 bad feedback on eBay or open disputes/cases. This happened AFTER I tried to withdraw $2,000-$3,000, which is my stupidity.

I am going to use a new paypal account via VMware Player.

I was thinking about just sending each buyer a google checkout invoice, so they pay that way, but I obviously won't state that in the listing since Google isn't accepted by eBay.

nandika 12-12-2011 04:21 AM

had the same problem as you.
first ebay allowed me to sell, but several items & weeks after paypal limitation they've limited my ebay selling privileges, and asking me to resolve problems on my paypal account (which is not even linked to my ebay anymore since the new acct) before I can sell again.
no limitation on the second paypal (yet:) )

jamblix 12-12-2011 08:54 AM

Yes, when one of my Payp got limited I switched to Paymate and I was able to still sell for awhile. Never tried just making and linking a new Payp though, that's interesting...

lucy 12-13-2011 04:21 PM

can you use paymate instead of paypal in your ebay listings?

rsot 12-13-2011 04:27 PM

Sure but you still need an active pp on file.

BrianSpilner 12-14-2011 03:20 AM

I think a merchant account would be the best since most won't ask as many questions as PayPal does. They definitely won't withhold your money because it goes straight to the bank account on file.

GreenBean 12-14-2011 03:31 AM

Merchant accounts are as lethal as paypal. :juggle:

Well, there goes that idea! :>

I just thought it would be better since payments go directly to your bank account rather than getting held up on their system until they decide if you are eligible to receive the money you earned like PayPal does.

I did that on few accounts. After PP got suspended and they were "unable" to verify my stuff I detached that suspended PP from that eBay account and then simply created a new one, under new IP, new login ( Apple user) and all and it has been a few months, nothing so far ;-) let us pray :amen:

I had mine for a few months too before they got me. I really think it's because I tried to pull out too much money at once and/or the items I was selling were high-risk/VERO items. Although, my eBay should have been suspended too, but I guess not; that is, if DVD's are considered high risk.

rsot 12-15-2011 11:15 AM

@Daga - did you use the same reg info as the old pp that got suspended?

Have you read any of the stealth books?

YOU CAN'T USE THE SAME INFO AGAIN ONCE IT HAS BEEN SUSPENDED.

so you have to make a totally new paypal account? This means you have to change your information to mach your new paypal account in your ebay account as well. Will you get limited if you change the name, address and everything else on your ebay account? thank you

stugots 12-17-2011 09:07 AM

I never changed my info on ebay, I left it alone and made a new pp with new info, works fine for me.

you are allowed to have a pp under a different name then ebay

ok, so you make a new paypal with a new user account. Do you use your old user account for the ebay account and the new one for the paypal or you just use the new user account for both of them? thanks

nandika 12-18-2011 10:02 PM

This happened after I removed (un-linked) the limited paypal account from the ebay, and linked another paypal with another name&details, different email, different everything.
Had sold some items before this limitation with the new paypal though...

@nandika

Well durrr, did you really think it would be that easy? I'm almost positive your eB was limited because you attached that new Payp and not because of the details or the name but, because the previous you one you had was already limited. The only way you could sell with a limited Payp acc is to find another payment processor like Paymate etc. or like most of us create more stealth accounts.

I feel that wasn't clear enough, if your Payp gets limited you cannot attach another Payp or everything will go down including the newly added Payp and your eB account. I have not had experience with stugots saying you can have another Payp with different info attached to your eB but, if he is correct then I also think that if you had linked that new Payp BEFORE the one already attached was limited, things would have been fine.
