what happens if you remove the bank from paypal?

ok, to save me a few weeks testing this (which i think im going to have to do anyway just to make sure) what will happen if i make a paypal account, add a bank account to verify and then remove the bank account?

will the account stay verified? or will paypal demand i add another to verify it?

and also, instead of removing the account from paypal. could i just remove the direct debit from the bank and the account will stay verified with the bank account still attched (but useless)

i cant test till next week so just wondering what people think

thanks

Account stays verified if you remove it.

I removed bank on one of my paypals and it is still verified.

Yes it stays verified - don`t reuse the bank account again with another pp though.

try leaving it a week or so before adding it back while still selling, see how your payments go.

it will stay verified but they will ask you to confirm it again once you add it back, just ignor it.

yes you can do it from the bank end, if you cancel the dd, pp will remove the account for you in a few days.

^ Have you managed to have long lasting accounts without having any sort of bank account attached in the long term? just curious....because i have a couple of accounts like that I just keep ticking over selling a few bits n bobs...

Stigger 12-12-2011 01:21 PM

Never left one off while selling too long, a few weeks at most, i just usually remove it, sell for a few weeks add it again, withdraw and remove again once moneys in the bank, i leave it remove while the accounts are dormant

So are you using same bank account for other accounts?

no, one bank account per PP account.

james169 12-19-2011 10:32 AM

Don't forget to raise the limits to 100 / 3500 before removing it as i did, as i am now waiting for another 2 deposits to be sent to confirm the PP account again so that I can raise the limits Doh...............

I had an account where I didn't withdraw for 3 years. If you do not withdraw , the chances of getting limited is low. Getting the money out is annoying but there are ways.

I had one for a year or so with no bank account, selling quite a lot. I used vcc's when the card expired . it has been limited recently due to my own stupidity !

It is possible to sell with unverified pp - but is it recommended? No just because of the potential headaches. If you have many accounts going and can stand the heat then that's your decision to make.

Stigger 12-23-2011 03:11 AM

the reason i kept removing and adding mine is because it disrupts the 21 day hold in your faviour if you have them.

the reason i leave them off while not using the account was because they where savers accounts and can get kicked off but they cannot kick a bank account off that is not attached.
