ebay phone call
 

hi guys

i made a account last night. but when i made the ebay account they wanted to phone me right away to enter the 4 digit code. (this normally only happens when you list the first item for sale)

i find it quite odd that they did this. will i still need to get them to phone me when i sell my first item?

has this happened to anyone else? do you think i still need to list 1 item so they ask to phone me so it makes it a seller account?

i have never had them ask to phone me as soon as i register

That is normal. Its just an automated system that calls your phone number with a pin and you have to enter it in on the website. Just make sure your ready.

think you misunderstood

when i was making the account (user name, password and all that info) it wanted my phone number to verify me. in the uk this has never happened in the 20 or so accounts i have made over the year. it normally only asks for that when you try to list your first item.

so what i am saying is do you think i will need to do this again when i list my first item (like it used to be)

the phone number i have used is only temporary you see so it runs out next week

think i will just try to list a item next week like i normally do to make it a seller account and see what happens.

You could probably or probably could not. Ebay is unpredictable making new error messages. :cheer:

then in your case its new, in ours not.

No you should not b e asked to ring it again when you list, however if they do not reconise your computer then you might be asked to.

i would add a number you have access to all the time as they some times do ring you out of the blue and if someone is not there to answer it, Sometimes the close the account.

out of like a TON of stealths ive made thats happend about 7 or 8 times
