Default Iphone 4 IP

I was just wondering how the Iphone IP addresses work. I will need to tether my iphone to my computer for ebay using my 3g data plan.

The problem is that I went on ebay before on my iphone.

Will this matter, because I heard that the iphone ip always changes? Is this true?

I am very confused as to how the iphone ip works.

If it is always changing, does that mean that I do not have to worry that I went on ebay before on my iphone as long as I delete the cookies?

Also, can you tether using 3g, and not wireless?(I'm assuming you can)

The IP on an iphone isn't static, The best thing to do with tethering is to turn off the 3G and then back on and it will change the IP. I use my Iphone to tether with my laptop for multiple accounts. If you jailbreak your phone there's an app that makes it quick to turn off/on the 3G function to make it faster for switching between accounts.

Since I will have to change the ip everytime, Do I ever have to worry about it going back to the same ip as from a time before, or do the ip's always change to new original ones.

I would advise to clear cookies & browsing history before switching the accounts just in case...

What about if you dont tether, but instead use the iphone itself to handle everything. I have an iphone on sprint right now, but I dont want to jailbreak it, or pay the 30$ a month tethering plan =/

What are the downsides to accessing everything directly from the iphone? Is there a way to set up different user accounts on an iphone? My understanding, is that tethering offers the advantage of being able to mange many different accounts easily, and also of keeping cookies, etc intact for each user, so that less flags are raised with PP. Is that it? I usually only have 3-5 accounts actively selling at once with maybe 5 more being aged and gaining feedback. Even if it was a hassle to access them all on the iphone, if there were no major issues with it, I'd probably still prefer to do that, than spend the $ to tether.

It's possible to do everything on your iPhone. I'm currently doing this. I use Auctiva on a computer to create listings.

Clearing cookies only if you are using the iphone browsers......... but if you are using user accounts on a laptop or computer like the OP was asking and using the iphone to tether then you do not clear cookies......

I'm currently using Atomic Web Browser in 'private mode' which saves me from manually clearing cookies+history

I'm looking for an iOS based browser for iPhone like 'Switch' browser for iPad

If anyone knows of one and could share it here, I'd greatly appreciate that

tethering is where you use usb to pc to get connected like if your browsing on your phone.using the phone as a wireless router gives you another option as it uses another mac and ip block, thats why it was not

thanks for clearing it up.
