Buying new computer will it trouble my accounts??

Ok so my current computer needs a update and Im looking at a new dell but my concern is I have about 20 user accounts/ebay seller accounts setup on my current computer and Im worried that when i start using the new one all the accounts are going to get flagged since new everything except for maybe ip? Is this a legit concern? I never delete info just switch user accounts so thats why im alittle worried. Any info would be appreciated

legit concern, but minor in my opinion. you will probably just have to do the phone pin thing again on all of them

99% sure you can transfer your info (cookies etc) over.

Give me a minute to find the thread :pop2:

accutinting 01-07-2012 08:23 PM

awesome I do use firefox. I had no clue this was even possible. Thanks again for the knowledgeable input everyone..some major weight off my back now

accutinting 01-07-2012 08:24 PM

umm not sure you think that is advisable

seanws30 01-07-2012 08:29 PM

could always clone the hard drive from the old puter to the new

hackteck 01-07-2012 08:31 PM

maybe this is why i got MC011 i just realized i recently upgraded my computer and started selling now they are asking me to fax tracking numbers

accutinting 01-07-2012 08:35 PM

yeah this is what im trying to avoid at all costs. Last thing I want is for 20 good accounts to be at risk for something so minor

What kind of new computer comes with Vista these days?

And you cant simply clone the hard drive from a current computer to another computer, the hard drive is coded to the 1st computer. You can clone a hard drive to another hard drive (bigger or smaller) but it has to be the same computer.

And I have used other laptops with ebay accounts. I just log in and search around for some days and it worked for me. I usually search around for some days to build up some new cookies on the new laptop and start reselling slow again. After all that, I continue selling on the new laptop.

maybe that was my problem i didnt wait a few days

accutinting 01-07-2012 10:27 PM

yeah I suppose it would come with windows 7 not vista.

xxxhustlerxxx 01-07-2012 11:10 PM

windows 8 is out this year. so a vista laptop would be pointless.

Not true.

Acronis and bootit are two program i know of and have used regularly.

Also i never save cookies, i always have my setting to delete them when i close the browser, i never enable DOM storage either.

If you keep the same computer name, registered to name and same user account name and log in from the same network the first time you should be fine, i never get the signed in from a new computer message when i change computers.

Chrome or Firefox? What is preferred?

I realize the fox is easier to transfer cookies/account details with certain programs, what if some one has been using Chrome for say, 2 weeks.. Any way to transfer info?

I did search threads, lot of info on chrome, nothing on this topic though.. Thanks

Stigger 01-09-2012 10:05 AM

its been a while since i used crome but look in the installation folder for a "Web Data" there in there somewhere.

for xp you can find them in

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
