Bank account problem

I created a stealth account and as a new seller and I have limits on the amount of items I can sell this month because I don't have any feedback yet.

Ebay said I can raise these limits just by confirming my contact info. So I continued and it displayed my name, address, telephone number, etc. and I confirmed it. Then it began asking me security questions. These were the same security questions the bank asked me when I created my checking account online.

They asked about the middle 2 digits in my social security number and they asked about a relatives age. Ebay states it consults with a third party to verify your identity. I'm afraid if I answer these questions I will be suspended again.

It says on the page to answer the questions, if you don't remember, it says answer them as best you can. I'm not sure what to do, please help!

Firstly, please calm down.

Secondly, they do this with most accounts if you wish to raise the limits onlone. If it is in your real information, then you should know the answers to the questions.

Yes, they DO use 3rd party verification, such as public records and all that jazz. Its free info that anyone can look up. They have been doing it for a while now. But, they did not use your bank info to get the questions.

You seemed to have used someones real info since it has the questions. Just relax and answer them

if I answer them will they link me to my old account?

shadystylez 01-09-2012 05:41 PM

and the question about the relative is the same question from the bank

eBay gets the info from public records thats it alot of the ?'s they ask are trick ones to throw u off. Ebay cant get info from the banks leagly that is

what should i do then? If I answer the questions accurately I'm afraid they'll link it to my old account. Should I just answer the questions? Or put the wrong answer to some? It says take your best guess if you don't know it. On my old account my social security was on my paypal but I was able to delete my paypal completely after my ebay was suspended. Also a different name was on the ebay account as well before it was suspended.

Just answer the questions correctly. If you dont answer them they will want you to send in documents and if the documents fail the review process the account gets suspended. So go for it. Answer them correctly. If you answer the questions correctly then you won't have any problems.

Once I requested higher selling limit on my non-stealth account, I couldn't answer but Ebay never contacs me.

Ok guys heres what happened, I went to answer those ebay questions but I left the webpage on too long and it expired so I had to refresh the page and the questions wouldn't come up anymore. It said something like "We were unable to varify you, please contact ebay customer support." I haven't contacted ebay customer support and I am still able to list items within my limits. Keep in mind these questions were to verify me so I can lift my limits before 90 days. Is it ok that I didn't answer the questions? Should I just wait the 90 days then request higher selling limits after I've developed some feedback as well? Or is ebay eventually going to limit my account and ask for documents? I feel if they were going to do this it would have been done already.

Also keep in mind these questions weren't mandatory. They were just given if I wanted to increase my selling limits before 90 days.

It happened to me once when I was going to answer the questionnaires but left unanswered for a while. When I came back, I had to refresh and it came up with different questions.
