Keep in mind I'm using tetherme, a jailbroken app, not the original iphone's personal hotspot, also my iphone is right next to my macbook, whereas the router is about 20 ft away, so that might have something to do with it.

I had problems with my service so I kept at the tech guy at Comcast to give me business speed....I don't know for sure if they gave it to me though...later I found out on my own that my router was dying. I bought a new one and WOW!

You won't have access to Rev. A/Rev. B or WiMax. Vmob loves to claim that EVDO is 3G just like a lot of other cheaper companies and it pissed me off because it is not even close.

I can't believe that's all you have available in your area. I can pull a solid 30+Mbps down ALL DAY from Comcast...

Damn I have an android should i just download a tethering app and do that instead of dealing with comcast? We just switched from at&t which made it very easy to change ips now we have comcast. It has been two weeks of hell because I havent had any success changing the ip so a customer rep bridged my modem today, I went into my router and changed the mac address around and it changed my ip finally. But it is the same ip on all my user accounts so I guess I will have to change my ip everytime i go to my ebay user account. Would tethering be a better option for me?

Also, it's always good to have backup plans, so consider tethering, it's free, and easy as 123, if you need any help feel free to let me know. I have some good ones for you.
Are you using an Android phone?

It's odd though, because for some reason I was still able to stream movies from Netflix, stream console games from OnLive, and these usually require 3mbps speed to run smoothly.
I tested t-mobile, and got 6mpbs DOWN, so it's DEFINITELY faster than MY Comcast at least.

I have the exact same thing, weird that my speed is so slow, even weirder that it streams movies from netflix, and games from OnLive FLAWLESSLY.
