PayPal question

I currently have a verified PayPal account, and I chose the credit card verification option to lift the initial $500 withdrawal limit (where they charge your credit card $1.95 and you have to enter the number that appears on your statement). My question is this: will they eventually ask for my SSN anyway, no matter what I do, once I have processed a certain amount of orders? Thanks.
