We were unable to verify the phone ebay...
 

So when you start selling your first item and you get this error at where you put your phone number to verify here is the answer i got from ebay chat:
We were unable to verify the phone number you provided. Please try a different number.


Ebay's response:
I see, I tried checking here and the reason we will not accept the phone number is your using a phone number that is link with multiple accounts. For security reason we only limits the number of times you can use one line. You need to use a different number. A mobile or landline will do. You can borrow from a friend near you if you want. Any way it's just a one time verification and we have option not to save it in your account.

Yeah it's still there. Its REALLY hard to find though. Almost impossible if you don't have the exact link. You don't want to use it anyway, talking to them is like talking to a brick wall.

yeah useing the same phone # is like useing the same creditcard to reg a ebay account it will link u.

use google voice please..... using the same number is foolish they will link you with that stuff

Even using google voice does not work all the time. Sometimes you will get a error by ebay with using some google voice numbers.

Omg first of all calm down everybody. Of course I know not to use the same number. I would be foolish. I write down every number down I have used. Before I put a number up I check it with my database to make sure I have not used it. These numbers I tried today were numbers I never used and bought online. Somebody else must of used them. It happens with others also.

I see - recycled number. It happens - just the way you started the post....was disappointing to see you doing this kind of nonsense.

I used vumber and google.

Happened often for me with Virgin numbers, never with Google numbers so far.

I heard of vumber recycled numbers - sounds right.

This is nothing new at all, eBay has been doing this for years now. One phone number can only be used to verify two accounts.
