Difficult buyer. What should I do?

Hi everybody,
I'm sorry that I have to say WTF my buyer.
I listed an item, he bid on that one today, then he PMs me saying that he doesn't want the item anymore. He even hasn't paid for it (only bid on that one) and then he gave me a negative feedback for no reason.
WHY did I get negative feedback for his cancellation?
And I heard that buyer only can give feedback after he pays, but this buyer hasn't paid yet, How can he give me a negative feedback? He also doesn't say anything in the feedback, just give me a Red one. I PM him already and but I'm not sure he will response.
But in case he put the wrong button and want to change the feedback, is it possible to do that and how to do that?
This account is linked with another account with xxx information, so I'm scared to call Ebay. Please tell me what I should do?
THANKS !!!

seanws30 01-17-2012 07:55 PM

just contact ebay and they "might" remove the feedback if you explain your case well enough

Bingo 01-17-2012 08:06 PM

The thing is I'm scared to call Ebay because another linked account of mine has not real information, I'm afraid that Ebay will ask document on that account.

seanws30 01-17-2012 08:08 PM

why are you linking accounts that are not alike? better yet, why are you linking accounts in the first place?

secondly, what does one have to do with the other? just stay on topic with the ebay rep. besides, i think this can be done online

This happened when I opened a selling account for the first time, no experience, no knowledge about Ebay. The accounts are linked because of IP.

I'm not sure Ebay rep. will ask but I'm just scared in case I'm being asked.

I think he might not know the concept and did that to scare you but if so just message him saying you will gladly cancel the auction and eat the fees just take away the negative thats all. More than likely I think you can get rid of that without even talking to ebay..unless he is your competition which I think is a dirtball thing to do cause I think competition that does that is afraid you will get more sales than them...I like to think no one is passing me up go ahead and try I like a challenge haha but anyways dont stress that negative

oompaloompa 01-18-2012 07:36 AM

email him about it.

I always thought you could not leave feedback unless you had paid....

sasha 01-18-2012 08:10 AM

I think I agree as well, don't think you can leave feedback until payment has been received.

rsot 01-18-2012 10:54 AM

A buyer could mark "Payment sent" and then leave feedback.

Bingo 01-18-2012 11:48 AM

I'm a totally new seller, I went from 100% to 94% because of this negative feedback.
I listed a coupon (only $2) and he bid on that. The expiration date is coming soon, so I ended the listing and PM him saying that I already ended the listing and ask him to make payment so that I can send it to him right away and he will have much time left to use the coupon (I asked in a very polite manner).
Then he PM me ''sorry I dont want this item any more" and a RED.
I PM him back yesterday afternoon but still no response from him.
I see that usually if buyers don't want the item, they just go and don't care about leaving FB, but this guy left a FB right away, does that mean I made him upset or anything?
Or is this a competitor? Or because I used his images (I took the coupon images from Ebay, not my own). This guy has only 1 feedback.
@rsot: how can he mark as "payment sent" if he doesn't actually pay for it?

I don't expect him to response me, so could you guys tell me if I contact Ebay, will they look at my other account and require documents OR they just look at this situation only and won't review and require anything further?

He even didn't communication with me before leaving feedback.
There are 2 reasons I can think of.
1st: he put the wrong button.
2nd: he purposely planed to do this in advance.

I have only a few FB so this negative one affects significantly.
Not only it goes from 100% to 94%, but DRS also drops a lot (I believe he gave all 1 stars).

Unless your auction is BIN with immediate payment, a winning buyer can always click the little option saying "Payment sent" - does not mean that he has paid but it's a way to subvert the system.

I think this is a flaw of Ebay system. If any competitor wants to kill you, he can do this too easily.

Bingo 01-18-2012 01:35 PM

I just checked his feedback left for other sellers. He also left a Red for a seller that he doesn't want the item. He doesn't have any idea about a RED?

oompaloompa 01-18-2012 03:49 PM

yeh thats true, they could be sending a check, or at least saying they are...it is a flaw...

definately think ebay/livehelp will look in to this for you...Ive removed stuff before...

Bingo 01-20-2012 06:33 PM

There is still no response from buyer.
If I contact Ebay by email (live chat is not available), does it make any different from calling Ebay regarding Ebay reviewing my account and requesting documents?
Thanks.

GrannyT 01-20-2012 06:38 PM

You can leave feedback if you haven't paid.

You need to open an unpaid item dispute - NOT cancel the transaction.

After the allotted time you will get your FVF back

At that point you contact Ebay by email about malicious feedback and they will cancel the feedback and the neg.

Important - you file a non paying bidder - NOT cancel the transaction

Bingo 01-20-2012 07:39 PM

Oh I see, thanks GrannyT.
I would like to have another question.
I have only 12 feedback, very few but enough to see my DSR. I have tried my best but perhaps 1 or 2 buyers were not happy so my DSR is very low, just about 4.1- 4.2 for everything (after this negative one).
If I contact Ebay regarding the malicious feedback, they will look at my account and see it's below standard. Should I contact them or just let it go and try to improve my DSR?
Please give me some advice.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Granny T,
I already opened unpaid item case. Should I wait until I get FVF back to contact Ebay or should I contact them now?
In the Customer Support center, there are several topics to choose when contacting Ebay, should I choose "inappropriate feedback comments"?
Thanks.

GrannyT 01-23-2012 03:45 AM

Wait until you get your FVF and then complain to Ebay - make sure you ask them to remove the DSRs as well

Bingo 01-23-2012 04:08 AM

Thanks a lot, GrannyT.
