Is ebay this rude now?
 

I had an account I listed a cd on and ebay removed the listing and I got mc999 that I needed to call in and I call 3 weeks later since I forgot about the account until today and I speak with a rep and they tell me im sorry we are to part ways and I say why are you parting ways what did I do wrong? AND the rep tells me as much as i would wish to share this with you im sorry goodnight without me saying goodnight or anything just hangs up on me.

Any new stories for 2012? I remember ebay was not this rude before.

At what time of the day did you call?
During hours, it will most likely be a USA based eB ay rep.
Off-hours, it'll almost surely be a off-shore Call Center agent (Indian/Filipino).
The off-shore agents they are using more and more now,
and they tend to be absolutely rude.

Maybe FanKango called during the last few minutes of the EB's rep work shift and wanted to go home and put stuff up for sale on his/her EB account.

Obviously the reps ain't getting paid sh*t and they hate their jobs.

I was hung up on once when i said i was earning around 5k month on an account that got shut down, the women just went silent :shhh: and then i heard the line of death buzzing.

Go figure..

Been phone with Paypal this year, for a small hiccup on my personal account. Made a few racist jokes at her and some other funky observation during the conversation. She didn't get it...


I think there's a good chance they will hang up on you when you make the call. However when they call, they are pretty insistent and don't hang up easily :)))

I have talked to more rude and pushy reps then nice and friendly over the years.

Now that I have plenty of backup most of the time I give them back the same tone.

FanKang - You should have just told them what was up! That can't treat you like that. Time to show them the skills you learned on the streets :fight:

It was like filipino/indian person it was like 10:00pm night time here in the usa and that woman is a punk. I got plenty of backups, but now im going to give them a piece of my mind.

Hey I have tried to be overly nice to the rude ones but lately they have become like caged animals and holding your feet over the fire with their rudeness and demanding attitude.

I wont risk a very good account but in most cases with good accounts you do not have to call them.

On newer accounts I am no longer allowing them to just stomp on me. I give or treat them right back the way they treat me.

One of the ebay butt holes told me if I want to keep selling on ebay? I said yes, that is why I called and their comeback was, well, you need to be more cooperative and if you are not I can just shut down your access to the account and stop you from selling on the largest marketplace in the world.

Well, I did not lose the account but I told her this is why ebay is going to hell in a hand basket, people like you believing they can push and shove sellers around and be rude and not even talk like a professional.

I just cannot stand back and allow them to walk on me anymore on newer accounts.

sandy,its nice to know they feel they can shut us down just because they feel like it.

so far none of the lawsuits against these a-holes has been able to stick. but all it will take is one genius who gets screwed over and comes up with an argument no one has tried before, and BAM, no more ebay. or at least a different ebay.

in reality, they are a private company and can run their business however they so choose. but the bigger they are, the harder they fall. and someday soon, someone will come along and crush these clowns.

granted ebay and amazon are by far the 2 largest online marketplaces, all it takes is someone like buy.com or overstock to come up with an awesome advertising strategy and they could easily give these guys a run for their money :rant:

I didn't call her like that. I called nicely and said hello i received an email that i needed to call in to verify and she tells me to wait and then comes back and tells me that information.
