What address do you advise i use?

Hello, people. Making a new stealth account. What type of addresses do you recomend? Random address? PO BOX? ect. Any advice would be great, its my first stealth account without using a relitives address.

Any address is ok providing it actually exists and you have access to it. PO Box is probably less desirable but a private mailbox is good.

po box works well with slight alterations - if you want to receive stuff.

Dont use a random address ever. Those days are gone.

Your stealth address should be one you have access to and one not associated with anything previously banned.

You must keep in mind to try to never link yourself :typing:

Hi Greenbean,

I'm reading the stealth guide and I will soon create some stealth accounts, can you please explain me why we can't use random addresses? Thanx.

Because real people live at those random addresses

Maybe I'm missing something but gonna have to disagree with the address, I use addresses that I have no access to and things are sailing along. I research the address though, it must be unoccupied and within 100 miles of where I live. Could be an empty lot or whatever. Only problem is returns and if you're making enough profit, you can take a loss on the occasional return and move on.

I use to up until very recently message my buyers who want to return, through ebay and send them my real return address to their paypal e-mail. I only do this now for items worth over $100, you refund first so they don't think they are getting scammed. I never had a buyer not return the item to my real address after refunding first. Now though it's just a hassle especially with angry buyers, I just tell them "Very sorry to hear this, keep it, you've been fully refunded, have a good day." you think I get negative feedbacks?

GreenBean 02-18-2012 08:09 PM

@jamlix, you go right ahead and disagree.

Comments were addressed to newcomers who are not au fait with even being stealth.

You seriously think we tell them to have a phake address is wise?

UK users are having grief to be verified and confirmed when a dodgy address is given.

No way am I going to suggest to a user to follow your suggestion when there's a chance they are going to be asked from the start to supply ID.................

does that still sound good???????????? I hope not.

Yeah I wasn't trying to say you're wrong GB :peace:. Only sharing my experiences. You have a good point, this was an example for the states and someone experienced in stealth. I have little idea how ebay and pp work in other countries. When I first started as well I did have addresses that I had access too.

GreenBean 02-18-2012 08:27 PM

These days replies are tending to be more country specific than ever. :peace:

My from experience if you have a non exiting bogus street address and you have to speak to a an eb rep on the phone I will almost guarantee they already have google earth up and looking right at your house.

If it is a lot with no house I would not want to be the one to answer that question.

Things are changing and we have to change all the time unlike in the past.

Would it cause a problem knowing that I'm drop shipping so this random address will not be the return address?

oompaloompa 02-22-2012 08:26 PM

accessible address is not necessary - I agree

accessible is better though, for returns etc

address must exist or must be at least one that is so grey that if looked up, a disparity does not show up ie door number that does not exist for that street, or a zip and house or road that do not match with each other, mispellings are useless too....

tell ebay you are dropshipping! no never do that! Tell the customer, yes that is ok....so usually an address sticker or emailing the customer is ok for returns

but...
in case of a dispute, the return is autofilled as the registration address, you get chance to change it but could be problematic? you do not even get choice to let them keep item in dispute as it requires tracking to close case...so here as you see one of reasons for accessible address recommended.....

Thanks for the advice, don't worry I will not tell ebay, yes there is an address sticker on the package and luckily I don't have a lot of returns.
