Last item to sell and 21 Day Hold
 

Question, I have one last item to sell on a stealth account, and judging from the bad luck I have had with buyers lately I am going to ensure I get payment for this and it is cleared. Its an electronic, and I was just wondering because I have had serious issues with the holds. Can I just request on the buying page for eBay that I will not ship for 21 days? Change the handling time to 21 days? That way the money will clear and the hold is gone, I can withdraw, THEN ship the item. After that I am done. I was just wondering if this is possible because I just honestly can't afford to get ripped off anymore and these holds easily make it possible. I've hit a horrible bout of luck with fraudulent buyers lately. The item is probably about $1,800 or so. Thanks!

You can do that but most likely kiss most of your buyers good bye.

I can't say it's impossible but, it's not a good idea. I've seen some sellers take the feedback route instead. You ask for positive feedback so the money clears faster before you ship out and you can state that clearly in your auction. I just don't think a buyer would be willing to wait 3 weeks for a $1800 item to ship out, I sure as hell wouldn't buy it.

How are you getting ripped off anyways? Don't you have tracking information and signature confirmation? I would hope so with items worth over $500.

I was scammed by "chargebacks" on these damn credit cards. Twice. Had another seller claim it wasn't in like new condition, eBay let them mail it back, it never got to me (I don't think they even mailed it) and then they gave him his money back anyway. It's such a crock!
