New trend by buyers?

They open a case..... you refund them, then they just disappear and do not close the ebay case. If i am reading it all correctly. Even after the 30ish days and the case closes out, it's still held against the seller. So unless your buyer closes the case you still get it marked as an "open case"

I had been getting away with just paypalling money and then having the buyer close the case themselves. This way i didn't hit the 3 case limit on ebay for opened disputes. BUt, it seems people now are just saying..oh i got my money i'll leave it till it closes automaically..So then the hold on the funds are held for 30 days as well. Which isn't the problem, i care more about the "opened dispute" being held against me. I wonder if i contacted ebay and told them the buyers aren't returning or resolving the dispute and i'm still getting dinged for it, would they remove the case?

Sorry if i confused anyone.

Buyer opens case

- i send them refund via pp

- i ask buyer to close case

buyer closes case
Now i don't have a ding against me as an open case as the buyer closed it. all is good

HOWEVER if the buyer never closes the case it still gets counted as if i hit " refund" from within the case

and then after 30 days the funds are released back to me

Annoying

i think you can escalate the case as well. been awhile so i dont know for sure. but if you can, i would do that and explain why

Try and convince the buyer that the only way they'll get their money is if they complete the "Auction cancellation" form by clicked Agree/Accept. Whichever one it is.

I actually ran into what I believe to be two stealth ebayers.

I sold item "A" to a buyer, Buyer gave me Neutral Feedback with the Comment "Not 100% Authentic" which is bull but that's another story.

I checked into the buyer and that person bought almost the same item from another Seller and gave them exactly the same Feedback.

So to my suspicion I believe the buyer is a Stealther that might be getting ready to sell the same type of items, so far that person has made purchases.

Your conclusion sounds quite informed.

I know with the UK number you can sometimes get them to close the cases before the 8 days to resolve is up and of course after.

If you get the right person they should close the case in your favour with no affect on dashboard as they can't close it in the buyers favour as you've refunded them.

The "professional ebay buyers" have learned how to manipulate sellers so they can get something for nothing and leave you negative, neutrals and low DSRs.

Whenever this happens to me and i issue the refund the case closes automatically. This is the way it should happen......... idk why its not like that for you.

Same here Loop--

I am not risking a negative or an account over a few dollars here and there.

I dont sell many high dollar items so I dont usually have to deal with that area.

I try to check the feedback of all bidders right before a group of my auctions close to avoid the competitors that buy and neg on purpose. They are out there...

It's just immature and has no class at all. I mean seriously if a seller's only way to increase sales is to sabotage their competitors this way they can go **** themselves. Plus there are highly more efficient ways to increase sales then to waste your time with this method.

On-topic: Why are you getting cases opened against you anyways? I know it can't be helped sometimes, but for it to be this much of an annoyance it must be happening on more than one occasion. And in my experience most buyers message you to tell you of a problem before just right out opening a case against you.
