Default H&R Block - Dirt cheap?!

I just got done calling 15+ accountants and lawyers in regards to setting up an LLC.

Some CPAs told me they could do it for $400-500 + state filing fees.
Some CPAs told me that only lawyer's were legally allowed to do it.
Some lawyers told me they could do it for $300-400 + state filing fees.

H&R Block told me they could do it for $50 + state filing fees with tax ID included.

I was kind of surprised when the lady told me it would only cost 50 bucks. I asked her if she was a CPA, and she said no but laughed and said she is better than a CPA. I asked her why some CPAs said they could do it and others said I need a lawyer...she said since I am only a single person, I do not need a lawyer to set up an LLC.

Does anyone have experience with H&R Block or could give me some enlightenment on which route I should go...lawyer, CPA, or H&R Block? I know Legal Zoom has their package with tax ID for $359 + state fees...H&R Block beats everyone in cost by a mile!

I think you'd get better answers using Yahoo Q&A.

Yes I agree. Google research is the way forward for this.

Haha...I already did some of that, but personal experience is always better coming directly from the user.

you can get a tax id number for free by doing it yourself on the irs's website here https://sa.www4.irs.gov/modiein/individual/index.jsp
