It does say quite clearly when adding bank account that "names must match"... So its something they are getting onto...

I see a increase in DBA for stealth users in the future...

What countries are these accounts/bank accounts in? Egypt? Or United States?

I have noticed that at least a month ago people started talking about this and I did not get the deposits withdrawn from my accounts, but I am not taking chances and wasting banks after seeing this today when I went to add a bank.

Cut and paste from Paypal:

1.PayPal makes 2 small deposits (less than $1.00 USD) into your bank account for added security. (We’ll retrieve them soon afterwards.)

So now what to do? they still offer instant verify but with Ally it does not work.

This problem only happens with US accounts from what I'm seeing? Because in the US you're required to bank account verify. Other countries can be verified with VCC or other methods.

Have you guys considered that this might not actually be PayPal, but the bank? If the names don't match, the bank could bounce them back to PayPal, and it might show on the statement as if it was a debit by PayPal when it's really a return by the bank? Just a thought. Might explain why it happens to some and not to others.

I think PayPal is just getting greedy LOL! Imagine how much money they are losing with 1000s of accounts being verified everyday.

Another reason for this new method could be....

A story did pop like like a year or so ago about a guy who made like 10k from 1000s of paypal deposits alone this was all over papers i think other folk may have chimed in with his method hence them taking their small deposits back.

Certain banks are a no go. Most have no issues with getting deposits in other names.

As I previously stated , I acually got a call from the security dept from capitol one, telling me this was a no-no cause the names didnt match.
the stealth guide recommended the on-line hsbc, and I had a credit card through them so thats why I opened that online account. I'm not a big fan of giving out my password and secret questions, but I'll give the instant verify a shot next time.
still no problems as of yet with any of the 4 accounts opened in the last 3 months, only one account had the paypal withdrawls, from 2 online banks.

Something I noticed when transferring money to a bank I use. Taken from the page on Paypal where you put how much to send to bank.

*The name on your PayPal account must match exactly with the name on your bank account. Learn more about how to change your name on your PayPal account.

I never paid attention to that, seems that was just now noted above were you would put how much you want to withdraw from the bank. Thanks

i hear some of you talking about the banks and some saying its paypal. has anybody made any accounts recently and done the deposit verification and your paypal is fine? i need to know before i start opening bank acc's just to lose them. also when doing the instand verify, say i have 3 accounts with joe smoe bank, i have one log in to access online and 3 diff account numbers. when doing instant verify do they compare that log in info etc or only the BA# etc.

So what is the final verdict on this? Just do the deposits still? or the instant verify?

man anything that happens in the US then Canada is sure to follow.

I suggest using instant verify that way no deposits are being made then once verified change your password and security question on the bank this way paypal has no access after but just for deposits.

I have only had a small percentage of VBA's have this 'debit adjustment' with the micro deposits. None have gotten limited as a result... Sounds to me like PayPal just wants to keep the Millions of dollars they spend on micro deposits in their pockets. People have probably just gotten limited for other reasons and blamed it on this debit. Hopefully.

I actually think this could be a money saver!

I think that all the millions of deposits add up and its just another way to save LOTS of money

Has anyone actually ever reported that they have been limited when the deposits have gone back and shown their REAL INFO to PP?

Yes there were some posts back where people got limited as soon as the micro deposits got returned.

The reason that PayPal gives you for a limitation, if they give you one at all, isn't always the real reason why you are getting limited. They just want you to send in docs because of something suspicious is the bottom line.

Exactly, I think it could be very coincidental the fact they limited. Maybe limiting new accounts for instant documents on a very random basis.

Think this post needs to be in the subscribers forum.
