| | | scrapdog2grand | 02-25-2012 04:52 PM | PAYPAL initial deposits for verification!! had 2 accounts verified through paypal,
but what I noticed this time - is that the 2 trial deposits where deposited and then withdrawal again and sent to paypal.
this happened first with a capitol one online account, in which cap one, called me cause the name on the paypal account didnt match my bank account, and told me this is a no-no with them, which is fine the account was verified and limits lifted.
second was an hsbc online account which I have not had a problem with, but I just thought it strange the trial deposits where sent back after deposit, and I have never seen this with any other bank account.
so I guess I would like to know if this is normal to see this withdrawal?
and second can paypal see the account holder name, has anyone had a problem with this? |

| SOME PEOPLE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS
(sorry for the caps, wanted to make sure you saw my answers)
i use instant verify if available. cuts down on this issue |
| lakeman | 02-25-2012 05:32 PM | Yup I've noticed this for at least the last month, probably even longer they've been doing it.
IMO deposit verify is no longer good for stealth accounts anymore as pp will see the name on your bank account when they take the deposits back.
Instant verify works great, I've never had a problem with it. |
| scrapdog2grand | 02-25-2012 07:06 PM | Shame, hope its not a problem, great account.
Thanks to both of you, This was the latest stealth account, set up in January, first time I've seen this as well. wasnt sure if it was the bank or something paypal had to do with.
instant verify had never work for me before, but I think it was the bank.
some banks do not allow instant virification, this is what I was told by the bank anyway. |
| Sandy D | 02-26-2012 12:25 AM | Everyone has to be careful with this.
PP is pulling out all stops. |
| bansheezone | 02-26-2012 12:39 AM | Its random. Played with a few banks, Ally, Bank of America, and Chase. No issues or maybe I am just lucky, however one ebay attached to one of those Paypal's I made went down after the second sale. No mistakes were made so it might of been related to them just being very random at what they do. Some are saying its just them being cheap. |

They do everything for a reason. |

| soopadudette | 02-26-2012 01:43 PM | What's instant verify? |
| newjerseymax | 02-26-2012 02:06 PM | Yep, had it happen several times on different account with different banks. Ally included... However note those accounts are still running strong...
Is it possible that they may be name matching to see if the name registers as banned in ebay system???
Another good reason to go stealth BEFORE your good name gets banned. |

What's instant verify? | thats when you want to verify your bank account, by entering the bank account user name, password, and secret question answers.
paypal will instantly use this to verify your bank account, does not work with all banks, and you must still do the trial deposits. |

| lakeman | 02-27-2012 06:48 AM | No, there are no deposits for instant verify.. |

| newjerseymax | 02-27-2012 12:46 PM | I am actually quite surprised that they still allow instant confirm in the US...

| wgenterprises | 03-01-2012 10:25 PM | what online checking accounts do you recommend at this point for stealth accounts that will work as instant verify with PP |

| imjustme | 03-02-2012 03:28 AM | I doubt they can see the names of the bank accounts when the payments are returned, especially if it's a savings account. They're not wire transfers, they're EFT transfer. PayPal shouldn't be able to see the names, just the account numbers and the amounts. I think they do it because they just don't want to lose hundreds of thousands or millions in small deposits every year. |
| renzini | 03-02-2012 03:05 PM | limited after micro deposits I have a new Stealth eBay & paypal account 2 month old and has some money, around $600 from eBay sales. I did the regular process to add the bank info on the 02/25/2012 to confirm the 2 micropayments, but today when I was ready to add the 2 small deposits amounts I find out that in my bank account (ALLY BANK) are 2 small deposits on the 27th from PAYPAL (CREDITS) 0.02 0.03 and same amount in 1 transaction for (DEBITS) 0.05 from PAYPAL same DATE
CREDITS
02/27/2012
PAYPAL VERIFYBANK
$0.02 $0.03
DEBITS
02/27/2012
PAYPAL VERIFYBANK
$0.05
Do you guys think that PayPal already know My real name with this last transaction for $0.05 as this was debited to Paypal from My Bank account?
I opened many accounts before but I don't remember see debits from PayPal in my Bank accounts
I did not confirm the PayPal yet because I'm not sure if this will limit my stealth account
Is this a new Limitation Method from PayPal?
THANK YOU |
| boodie20 | 03-02-2012 06:38 PM | I would like to just confirm: paypal is using that new trick. to credit than debit the micro deposit! It shows your real name. I have made 4 stealth accounts, 2 that are 8 months old. I just added the bank accounts 3 days ago. all 4 have had that: depost of the microdeposit and then a debit. and then limitation on the account :( Quote:

@renzini, folx have reported on other posts about this phenomenon. In my opinion, if PP manually looks at the receipt from the debits, they can see the true bank holder's name. Will this cause you problems? In the future maybe but wait for other folx to chime in. | |
